Keeping them warm in winter

Hi all.I have a secret jardin dr120 in my attic with carbon filter,5"fans
and 400w hps.All is fine in the summer but now at night when the
light goes out the room drops to below 0. last night i installed a 2
ft heater tube but when i checked the temp in the night it was still
only 3 c/37f whicjh is almost freezing temp.my inlet fans were
switched off but should i turn off my carbon filter as i think that is
sucking out the warm air before it can warm tent. Please help.many
thanks ;).

For me it's either the central hheating or more often than not i just say F it and ignore the temperatures. Broke my thermometer over a year ago. Nothing seems to be amis in the cabinet, might be a little slower growth than normal but i'm still pulling in my required harvests :)

oil filled radiator. im using a standard thermostatic fan heater, with ebb and flow this is fine due to the res evaporating in my room, could be an issue humiditywise in soil tho

When temps are really cold you can get a horticultural Heat mat, or soil warming cable at most garden centers. They will keep the soil and root zone warm, making the air temp less critical.

+1 on insulation , Be it over the tent like a blanket or duvet or proper attic insulation , can we gat a baby 500W oil radiator into the tent or next to the intake !
I got temp's as low as 11C before growth stopped . Run you'r light's at night .
Also room tempreature warm air from the house , can we take from the house below .
I found UK attic grwing overwinter easier to heat than cool when growing in summer .

No worries on the humidity Bob. Just add a crockpot full of staright water, lid off, in the room set on low. Adds gentle heat and moisture. Its cheap and works great!

Space heater with Thermostat....plus fan/filter...on timer...a digi one that can do minute intervals.....I have a cold basement and just finished some rather colder than usual temps a couple of weeks ago....It will take some adjusting but set the fan to vent like twice and hour to keep rh down....and let the heater go...put it somewhere safe and not too close to the plants......tape up the red led light as well.....If you dont like the idea of blasting 1300/1500w all night in the dark....than consider a hardwired 240v baseboard heater a 500w baseboard is as efficient as 1500w 1200v space heater....Carefull that the space heater and light schedule do not overlap.....BLOWN fuse cold plants......i have my lights on a digi timed powerstrip and another timer in the non-time outlets of the strip...my heater plugs into that, lights go off 5 mins later heat comes on.....heat goes off/ 5mins/ light goes on...good luck....no point in letting em freeze....enviroment es number1

That's a REALLY good idea. I'm going to give this a shot ;)

EDIT: Tested - this works really, really well.
