Im currently living in a state that isnt so easy on people who grow their own medicine, and am wanting to move to colorado in the next year the sooner the better. Are there any places with jobs and a decent cost of living? I have friends in pueblo how are they on medical growers there? So anyways grower with family seeking job and house in colorado rep for any good suggestions

decent cost of living is an independent viewpoint - better then NYC, YES!!! better then eastern WA? not really. it's all relative. Jobs? again, relative viewpoint to what you do? CEO? not really. IT career, not bad. do some research via job sites to see how broad or narrow your field is for hiring. at the same time notate salaries. this will give you a rough idea if comparible to your area and 'livable'.

I'm in the Denver-Boulder corridor, not familiar with other areas =\ but I rent a 2br house in good 'hood for $1K/m. No matter where you decide, check the lease!!! I noticed too late that mine says 'no manufacturing of controlled substances, including medical marijuana'. so no home grow for me.

I assume you have read the CO MMJ Laws and have a condition warranting a state license. keep in mind that as a CO MMJ Patient, you are allowed 6 plants growing by default (can be more if the Dr specifically writes the # on your registration/certification that is submitted to the state) ... this is enough to grow/complete 2 girls per month on a rotating basis (clones are easy to come by) .... this will greatly reduce your overall out of pocket expenses for medication as well.

ive done some searching around theres some decent prices on 4 bedroom homes in pueblo. I have a family so need some rooms. I have read up on the laws a bit, would my wife and I be able to have 6 each? I was a cali resident/patient, and my wife has scoliosis as well as severel degenerative back issues so I dont think becoming a patient will be an issue. Unfortunately there is a grand total of two dispensaries there right now, and a surplus of growers making it very hard to make money growing. Colorado Springs is where it's at besides Denver. I rent a 5 bedroom house for $1200 a month. That's about the rate on the west side of town. There is hardly a spot in the city that you couldn't hit a dispensary with a rock at, and because of the military Springs is a melting pot of cultures. Very liberal and open minded people here. I'd look into it.

You my friend haven't dealt with the north burbs of denver! Not a dispensary for miles! but then I haven't been to one of those places for a long long time. The Springs is a nice place , I kinda like it more than the denver area. As far as work everyone and their dog are looking for it out here it seems. I work in a sheet metal shop(hvac) , we do only commercial jobs, been employed there going on 5 years , it seemed as soon as our fearless leader(obummer) was elected things went to shit. The day after said leader was elected we got a company memo, "there will be no xmas bonus due to we don't know what our tax obligation will be" and really from then on its been downhill, working 2-20 hours a week. Its pretty apparent there is no building going on here or I'd be busy. Pueblo might be cheaper to live but the jobs there I have no idea about. Good luck with your move.

True that. I moved here a couple years ago, its not to bad of a town. I have to stay on the west side though or its going to drive me crazy.

I live in Fort Collins i lived in Denver my whole life till 7 months ago. Fort Collins is an easy going town and its alot cheaper out here.

hi Da' high 1 - where are you at now? Do you prefer a more liberal or conservative vibe? I am CO born and raised. Ft. Collins and Boulder are too expensive for what they think they have to offer in my opinion. Nice towns but too expensive these days, plus lots of college kids -- some people like that I guess. Anywhere on the front range of the eastern slope is getting to be that way, expensive. If you have friends in Pueblo then it can't hurt to try that area. If you're looking for a cheap place to grow, I'd say eastern or south eastern Colorado with its Kansas like weather and attitude. Lots of sunlight-just a great place for crops and cheap cost of living. But hard to find dispensaries and non-aggie jobs on the plains. Western slope is great too Durango, Grand Juntion these are growing areas and may be good spots for jobs. Living in mountain towns along i70 - the ski bum spots, they're real pretty and great outdoorsy stuff for the family but also a bit expensive and if you're not used to snow the winter's will be rough (like "the shining"). Speaking of which, Estes park is a fairly affordable mountain town... I'd say hit up craig's list and wander around a bit in there looking for jobs and homes and map questing them. But in the end if you have connections in Pueblo that's good for the soul and good for networking to find jobs too.
