doing nice things for strangers

Anyone a strong believer in karma? I am. What goes around - DEFINITELY comes around ten fold.

Does anyone else like to do nice things for strangers, even if a simple thank you is all you get in return?

No word of a lie, I was just on my way home from washing my car and I was stopped at a red light waiting to turn left... and I saw this poor woman in a wheelchair trying to go down the sidewalk, but it was like a little inclined sidewalk probably about 10 degrees.... and its really icy and snowy here so she COULD NOT get up the sidewalk... I kept seeing her roll back... and PEDESTRIANS actually walked past her and kept walking.. I was literally like what the fuck.... so as soon as the light turned green I made my left turn and immediately parked on the side of the road and thru my flashers on.... shut my car off and ran up behind her and said "excuse me do you need a hand?" at first she politely said "no I got it, it's only a couple blocks down the road" but she was STUCK in the rut and was there for 3-4 minutes (while the light was red) so I told her that I saw her stuck and I pulled my car over to help her... and she immediately lit up and let me help her.... I pushed her the remaining like SIX fucking blocks down the icy sidewalk through her icy parking lot all the way to her apartment ramp... and she turned and very politely said thank you very much, and told me to have a wonderful christmas...

No she never gave me any money, no I'm not a local hero... but damn I feel good knowing that I was the only one out of at least a few hundred people who saw her stuck have the decency to pull over and give her a hand. :joint:

And oh yeah, her parking lot had like a good FOOT of compacted snow and ice... and I'm pretty big and I was having a hard time pushing her through all the snow and ice... so theres NO fucking way she could have did that without my help... or she STILL would have been on her way home.. I've literally been home for 10 minutes now, EVEN after taking 10 minutes to help push her down the sidewalk.... and I guarantee I would of been sitting here at home and she would of still been struggling.

People literally pushed past her on the sidewalk to get around her, and I GOT OUT OF MY FUCKING CAR to help her... Some people... :roll:

Here's a little outside view from my window to let ya'll know how snowy it is here... and this is just the BEGINNING.. This is HONEST TO GOD the nicest day we've had in over a month... It's already dipped down past -30 Celsius today... and now its magically -2 celsius... which is why I washed my car :lol:

@Supgee3,
+ rep for that!
I was at a Ford dealer (next door to a Goodwill) waiting for an estimate on some major hail damage on my truck. They were backed up so I was hanging around having a smoke. A 70's year old lady asked if I could help her. Long story short, she had been saving up to buy a couch and finally had the money but she only had a car. She really needed a couch and was scared she was going to loose out on it. It was a pretty decent couch.
I ended up loading it up and taking it to her apartment for her. She was all lit up and wanted to pay me and I told her no an next time she sees someone in a military uniform to shake their hand and thank them for what the do. I have also changed a few tires on the side of the road for women with no intention other than for them to drive away to safety.

Good on ya harry, I'm the same way... if I see a car in the ditch... or someone stuck in the snow (which is VERY VERY frequent here, literally if I wanted to I could drive around and just help people out of the ditch) or if they need a boost I'm more than willing - and want nothing in return.

By the way this is our temperature record for last year

Environment Canada recorded a frigid -46.1 C, or -58.4 with wind chill, at the Edmonton International Airport at 5 a.m., Environment Canada meteorologist Pierre Lessard said.

so fucking cold that cant unlock your car door because the frost has gotten inside and jammed the door locks.... and it doesnt even matter if your car is plugged in if its outside in -50 C it WILL NOT start... garage doors freeze to the ground... its epic... but the city still chugs along transit and all
