Here is my Green-o-matic on day 52 of its life cycle. The plant is supposed to be able to be harvested in 55 days, and I am planning on harvest on day 56. It has taken quite a bit of abuse, but I am proud of it for the minimal amount of care I have put in to it. All I did was use a 2:2:1 ratio of MG organic soil, lowes brand potting soil, and MG perlite throughout the whole grow. It stayed under a 250w hps with two supporting 42w cfls. I didn't add any nutes and just watered when it looked like it needed it. Most of the fan leaves have died and been plucked off of the plant, but the bud is still looking good and strong.
About 90% of the hairs are red or orange, and the trichomes are about 10/85/5 clear/cloudy/amber. I have some questions regarding harvesting for you guys.
1) The pictures of a ripe GOM that I have seen were mostly cloudy and maybe a few amber here and there. It was pretty much just like my plant, so does that mean mine is ready for harvest?
check the pics out here: http://medical-marijuanagrowing.com/greenhouse-seeds/green-matic-t135.html
2) Since this is an indica dominant strain, should I wait a little longer for some amber trichs in order to bring out the true indica couchlock effect? As I foresee it, it could take a couple more weeks to get 50% amber trichs, and I am trying to have some bud ready by Christmas Day.
3) The plant is about 16" tall. What would you guys estimate as far as yield? I know it's hard to say, but I'm sure there is someone out there who could do a rough eyeball.
Any comments would be greatly appreciated. What do you guys think?
