Dead or Alive? What you think?

Hey guys,

Need an opinion on these plants, this is my first grow and im just over 2 weeks in, the two plants in the photo are the worst of 5 and seem like lost causes, I repotted them into better soil in a hope to save the plant (I think they burned from too much nutes in fertilizer)

Other plants are doing splendidly. Want I want to know is, is it worth me keeping these two and hoping they somehow recover in the new soil or do i ditch them out and start over?

Both or just the one on the left? I did trim the curled up leaves off it in a chance new ones would emerge, the one on the left still has some green in it could it recover?

trash em. you should never put more than 1 plant in a container and they look really bad, far to bad for me to consider it worth trying to keep, in the time it would of taken them to recover(if they dont die,these plants can survive some incredible damage and come back, but its not worth the time) you could have much larger and healthier plants.

Aye, I stuck em both together because they been like that for a while so though i'd try them together in the fresh soil to see if they would recover, has been 2-3 days since they been in there together and they havent got any worse think ill just keep em see what happens for now, dont have any more seeds atm so will have to wait to get some more.

My other 3 are doing fine

You really shouldn't be giving those guys fertilizer yet.. they're far too young for that.

That is true. and by cutting them u only did more trauma to them. even a less chance of survival. Just start over part of learning.

Yeah, Realise that now only mixed it in with some of my potting disks for an added 'kick' heh obviously wont be doing that again know better now

You post asking if you should keep the plants.

People tell you to ditch them and you argue that you are going to keep them.

Why did you post in the question in the first place if you already knew the answer?

People learn from their mistakes and I hope you are learning fast... (BTW, that is some pretty bad nute burn on one of the plants doing splendidly in the background) - That size plant or a little larger is when you should start feeding them nutes and very little at that point.

Im not going to keep them.. Im just curious to see what becomes of them, it makes no difference them being there than in the bin, and is it so wrong to remain hopeful they might recover somehow.. I know that they wont recover but like I said im just curious to see what happens.

Yeah the one in the back showed signs like the other ones, but it seems to have 'pulled through' and its only appears to affect its first leaves thankfully. Never knew when I potted them first that the mixes of things I used which actually cause problems to a young plant, know better now but was too late at the time.

You know how it is with your first grow, everything is new & learning things as you go obviously has its disadvantages but thats the way I like to do things o_0

It's all good, man. Most people started out the same way and their rocking along after a few years under their belt. Just take things slowly and you'll be fine.

Hey, prove us wrong then, nurture those dead little bitches back to health. If you have the room, and don't have any seeds I say go for it. If you can bring them back to life I'll be more than impressed. Best of luck.

Hello,

IMHO if there some green you can still save them. The fact is that it will slow their growth by good amount of time. Just be sure to remove most part of the dead leave so it will focus on regrowth. If you plan on keeping them alive be sure to avoid overdoing things you do not want to stress it more than it actually is.

Be sure to keep at least 3-4 cfl above it. Be sure that its few inch above it (even if its not hot)

Avoid giving em nutes for a week or so.

You really shouldn't be giving those guys fertilizer yet.. they're far too young for that.

Feeding early is not bad if you know what you are doing. The thing is most of the time people are not sure what to exactly use and how much to put of each that early. The thing is to usually start with at MAX 1/3 of the dose. (Base nutes , Pre rooting hormones, beginning of vitamins use at a very low %) Those can help for sure but can ruin everything as well. Just be sure you know what you are doing!.

DEAD, even minor stress with seedlings will drop the final weight.Start again with new seeds and dont waste anymore time with these mongrel lookin things.

Well i ripped off all the leaves from both of them they just look like big spindley shoots now, if new leaves dont sprout that clearly prooves there unworthy of keeping... im not worried about 'final weight' its a first time grow and its all experimental, I dont intend on buying anything new until I get my paycheck which isnt coming for about 2 weeks.. we'll see what happens and ill keep ya updated on their death... or their revival... o_0
