sorry topic title i ment to say "mold"
how can i get mold when humidity is so low? what is the best way to eradicate problem? there in 2 week of vegging right now

im gonna use 1 oz peroxide to each quart of distilled water and spray the plants down...how often should I do this? and is it ok while the lights are on?

if that dont work i try neem oil? is there any typical kind i should get? wash the room down with bleach and water now? what could be causing this? im in the north and its winter so humidity is very low..i have a window in my room cracked so fresh air comes in the room.

i have a 400cfm exhaust fan, a small intake fan on the floor board and a 16 inch oscialting fan for the leaves

thanks in advance

throw some more fans in your grow area, curculation is key...neem works great for alot of molds, i am having my first mildew problem and some fungicide worked great for me...

Hello,

To avoid powdery mildew;

- Very good ventilation (at least 2 oscillating fan) *Place them so all plants get air from each side and move. **Very important
- No temp under 72 at night (While light are off) *If lower you get more chance to get mildew* (They start showing when the temp is low with mid high humidy)
- IF you re humidity is too high , get a humidifier and set it at 40%
- Those product like neem oil will only slow growth of mildew. Getting rid of them usualy need to start over. (Clean room with bleach & good fungicide, Raise temp to kill mildew then use a can of Dr.Doom) and start over.

If you got more questions, feel free to ask. Happened in the past and dealt with it.

Hey,

Well just be sure to dial everything up. Try to save them just clean everything with bleach and dr.doom can and start over (Only if you cant save them) But dont forget ventilation and temperature and humidity is your first thing to focus on

i dont know how you did that, but im amazed:clap:

but some pics would help...if it aint bad, from what i read just keeping the enviroment unsuceptible to germination of more mold spores (i.e drop the humidity way low, low 30s workin for me) will be your biggest help, so keep the air moving all the time and keep the humidity really low, if your still in veg then fungicide them too and you should be good...

right now temps are 78 and humidity is 18% i put the plants closer together with fan knocking them around

thats dosent sound right...keep plants as far apart as possible, clusters of foliarge can cause PM...and dont have your fand roughing them up, just make sure the air is moving and being exchanged at a decent rate...

sorry, i skipped right passed the veg part you wrote. are you in soil? im curious to know how low your room gets. if your thermometer has a min/max temp it would be nice to know the minimum. im having this exact arguement right now with a friend of mine. his max temp is 78-80 but his low drops to 55. i told him to add a heater to keep the temps when the lights are off at 70. you dont want the temp to fluctuate more than ten degrees for night temps.

i agree completely. if you notice on the bigger leaves that rest on eachother somtimes have wet spots on the top of the leaves when you move em??? prime breading ground.

Raising your temparature to above 100 f for an hour or more will kill this powdery mildew and afterwards keep temps above 85 f to keep it away for good, also lots of fans for good air circulation. Remove infected leaves and spray full strength hydrogen peroxide on fan leaves then turn up the heat. If really bad then also use an organic fungicide like greencure and you will never see mold or mildew again. And they are correct when stating not to let temperature drop more than 10 f at night.
