those marketing numbers are for the birds..a bagseed could out perform any strain grown correctly, than a 100 dollar seed that is not
While a bagseed COULD out do an expensive strain, you have to admit that is a rarity. While you are right if you mean it one way, I dont want to give newbies like I was the impression that the expensive seeds arn't worth it. While some seeds and companies are definetly overpriced, i think the most overpriced is greenhouse seeds who have very low cost!! Value on seeds has so many variables, from your personal tastes, to what you are looking for (potency, yield, high type, smell/flavor type). The problem with bagseed is that if you had fantastic weed then most likely it wouldn't have seeds from herm/accidental auto pollen/lack of removal of males shows the odds for an inferior seed then say a pack of 10 for $100.00 much more probable. So law of probabilities state that any professionally bred seed from a reputable company should out do your average bagseed.
By all means if you got bagseed and your starting out grow it, you could get a pleasant surprise (as if you had seeds your non-seeded grow will be superior to what you smoked), but that doesn't mean it will outdo say some vortex seeds or purchased OG #18 seeds.... (sorry I have limited strains to choose from being i've only been growing limited number of plants for myself for a year)
Although I challenge someone to point to a seed I can buy that will give me what I find a better smoke (potency + flavor on sativa dom hybrid which finishes under 10 weeks) than vortex.
