well i am doing an experiment right now with a toped plant & a none toped plant of 2 diff strans.
so far my conclusion is this.
toping plant when it is about 10 inches tall will deff slow it vertical grow, only for a short time.
also u will have 2 new tops form & if your luck u might get what looks like 4 tops cause the 2 lower nodes are just as tall & fat.
week 7 into veg the untoped plant was jsut over 3.5 ft tall.
toped plant was 2.5 ft tall but had 4 top colas, (teqnically only 2 but all 4 were the same hight & thickness)
now we are starting week 3 flowering & wow. these plants have taken off.
the untoped plant is now over 4 ft tall & we have to LST the top over ( tie it down at an angle). because it was hitting the light & it was maxed out at 5.5 ft high.
now the toped plant had cought up & passed the other un-toped plant bye about 3 inches.
as far at LST when we did it to the plant that wasnt toped. all the lower groth has went straight up & we now have 20 baby tops looking at the light & it is awsome.
here is a pic of when they were younger. ill have some updates by thurs night.
i still cant believe how these have taken off, & what these methods has shown so far.
plant on the right is un-toped, see the hight diff then the other 3 toped plants this is week 4 of veg.
also plant of the bottom see how it looks like 4 main colas as they are all the same hight & thickness.
