Strains really don't make much of a difference when it comes to LSTing them.Anyone ever LST'd Willie Nelson? I've got a few from seeds almost ready to start and I'd like to LST.
You just do it.

Dude!! That isn't LST. That is Bondage!!got some newbies here, the oldest is about 3 wks old...started some heavy LST and topping:
I think you are safe to lst up until the 2nd or 3rd week of flowering, but i have heard that you shouldnt top or lst auto's because it will actually lower their yield...anyone have any info on using lst on auto's when or how to identify when to start lst and when or how to identify when to stop lst on an autoflowering plant, thanks a million
lol inorite?Dude!! That isn't LST. That is Bondage!!
Some people break the stalk a little so it flops over, think it is called super cropping. LST is low stress so you gotta feel out the plant. If she is stiff she may take a little time to get her bent so you just bend her a little bit at a time. Plants are the most flexible the day after watering. Every plant will be different so you just gotta be careful. Good luck. This looks like the spot for this question.................. 4 foot Sour D. I bent over the main stock and will start flowering stage now. Should I not bend over the main stock? Will it harden and break? I have never grown before so all help is really appreciated. Im growing her in a 4x5x7 closet. Any advice?

You can remove the 2 strings from the fan leaves and use one of them as a main anchor string for the main stem instead, IMO.[/QUO
Did you look at the pics? The main stem is tied down, its just been topped. I do this to all my plants, and they never complain.
I know it's tied down/over, but it isn't anchor'd from the other side to the base of the stem.......

LST can be done any time without loss of yield. Topping during flowering is another matter. The plant starts adjusting to the LST in a matter of a few hours, topping can take a couple weeks depending on which stage of growth the plant is in.I think you are safe to lst up until the 2nd or 3rd week of flowering, but i have heard that you shouldnt top or lst auto's because it will actually lower their yield...
some strains actually will grow better with 1-2 main colas and left alone to do its own thing, but most do good with lstStrains really don't make much of a difference when it comes to LSTing them.

P.S. I know you didn't come in here for this advice but your plants look really hot and stretchy. How is your ventilation?
i never used an anchor when lsting, if your care full you dont need one. and ive seen alot move theri fan leafs out of the way to allow light further down, it is a much better choice then cutting them offI know it's tied down/over, but it isn't anchor'd from the other side to the base of the stem.
I have never seen anyone LST their fan leaves.
no prob. i wasnt trying to make it sound like your plant will do it to but it happened to me once and wont do it again.holy crap well im glad i dont have that many ties lol. I will leave the one tied and re tie the other as needed. thanks for the help!
