Automatic irrigation/ nutrient delivery system

I recently designed a nifty little automatic H2O and nute delivery system with an 8 gallon reservoir that automatically waters 4 of my soil potted plants a measured amount once daily.

I had considered trying to find one to buy before I went to the trouble of designing and building mine but I wasn't able to find anything for under several hundred dollars.

With how well it works I have been considering trying to build them and sell them online. Wondering what you guys think about pricing. I was thinking about $75 for a model like mine that has an 8 gallon reservoir, a psi regulator, a 4 way splitter with 4 micro-spray nozzles, and can be set to water in any amount up to 8 times daily.

Maybe there are already things like this out there. If so let me know! Thx =D

bump =P I have a meeting Saturday with someone for potential funding for this. Would love to hear whether any of you would even use something like it.

Similar probably. I have been using mine for about 2 weeks now to water 4 clones once a day. I set a microspray nozzle up on a stake at the base of each plant. Seems like the water has been holding up for about a week at a time before I need to refill. Kind of nice to only have to mess with clones once a week rather than every day. So my original question still holds, a professional system like this you could buy at a grow shop or online, is $75 appropriate? And would anyone be interested you guys think?

Just went over that linked post again. The big differences between mine and that one are that you could potentially water an entire grow room with one unit as opposed to having to use a seperate system for each pot, mine comes with a psi regulator to allow for the use of a huge variety of nozzle attachments, and everything is pacakged professionally looking in a small and convenient size for closet grows. Also, with my system there are only 2 main parts. There's the reservoir and the interface housing. If your growroom gets bigger over time you can simply buy a bigger reservoir or make one yourself and set the interface housing on the new one and you're good to go. Not sure I'd want to leave the water standing in there for more than a week without changing it, but if you were forced to, your plants could potentially survive a month or so with the right sized reservoir.

I think my next project will be using this system for a hydro grow. I will probably use a 6 way splitter with microspray nozzles and position them around the roots. Will be interesting to see how it works for that.

I'll try to upload some soon. There's not a lot to see though unfortunately. It's a rubbermaid roughneck reservoir with a wooden box sitting on top. Coming out of the box is a power cord and an irrigation tube. The tube leads into a splitter that runs into 4 smaller lines that lead into the soil.

Inside the box is a timer, a pump and a psi regulator.

Seems good, it would work good for vacation watering. Theres one on amazon thats called the Oasis it can water only up to 10 plants i think it goes for 85-100 so i would say 75 is in the right price range :joint:

Checked out that oasis one. Apparently it's a gravity feed system, so you have to put the reservoir above the plants and let it sort of drain into them. From what I have heard they seem to have issues with the drain valve becoming stuck shut as well.
