Ok.., so I'm pretty sure this is one of those questions I know the answer to but figure I'll ask anyway.

My very first indoor plant into flower looking great. Trouble is, shes in a 3 1/2 gallon pot and I think that i should've kicked it into a 7 gallon pot a few weeks ago.

I figure I have another 4 weeks of flower and a rinse week and now I'm not sure if it would pay to even mess with it or would I be better off leaving well enough alone, taking the bud that finishes, and just ensure the next one is in a larger pot before this stage.

Including a couple pics for staging... Whatcha Think ?? :peace:

You want to try to stay away from anytype of stress on the plant during flowering as it wont concentrate on just producing the buds. It wont kill it if you do but usually you want to let be when its in flowering IMO atleast

Plants look real healthy and pretty by the way If it was me I would just take what I get with the yeild and scratch it down as a learning experience I ran into that same problem myself but still turning out pretty good if you click on my first grow in my sig you can see you can still get a decent yield going

7 gallon pots, you growing big ones? I transplanted one about 2 weeks ago that was 10-12 days into flower, I didn't want to, but it was getting rootbound and I figured flowering would suffer.

Hey pal, what size/height were they when you started to flower? I was gon'na push my veg cycle a couple more weeks but I am second thinking that after reading this. I'm no expert but what I've seen on this forum in those "party cup grow off" threads roots can get bound pretty good and still produce!

Well, She was at about 38" above the soil and about 36" diameter when I started flowering and now about 3 1/2 weeks later shes about 44" tall an a couple inches wider. Her main stem is right about an inch thick at the base.

Incedently about 8 days ago I took one of her clones that is about 10" tall and threw it to flower. I figure see what yeild I get off a smallone. That J.O.G. thing may be the way to go.

Your plants will not root into new soils after flower initiation starts. The energy used by the plant is directed to flower formation and rooting slows. If you transplant before flowering, veg for a few weeks to allow the new roots to grow into the new soils. A 5 gal pot is all the room needed for an indoor grow unless you are vegging for several months.

38"?!?!?! That's a boy!!! Wow how long did you veg for? That is great. What is JOG? I do a little LST when needed - I've heard mixed views on doing LST in flowering though...probably cos your twine gets bunched up with your bud (yuk!).

Well, I got her as a clone with 8 nodes end of August and sent her to flower First week of December. So I guess veg for 4 months but like you I was Photosynthetically challenged as I only vegged her under 3 40 watt flourescent tubes in a reflective closet. Now I have her with 5 of the same 40 watt flourescent tubes along with a 150 watt hps.

J.O.G. (Jungle of Green) OR (Sea of Green if Hydro ) Basically taking shorter, young, clones, and forcing flower after about 3-4 weeks of veg. Basically producing one (or more if you pinch growing tips) mega bud cola. Grow more plants with less production from each. More harvests in the time it takes to grow a longer veg cycle.

I figure if I can get 18-20 g. per plant, I'll grow 6 in veg and 6 in flower at all times, harvesting about every 2 months. With a shorter flowering variety. Do a search or even look in the hydro section. Alot of good exaamples in production.:blsmoke:
