yes jay i thought it wasnt too bad a deal, i got the 2 bulbs off hime while i was up there, tallaght new age has moved to the back of dominics shopping centre and even though they have only just moved in he has a good bit of stuff out on the shop floor, its a much bigger place than what they had before. i personally find them very helpful and they seem to want to do anything to make the customer happy. which is good for us. the prices aren`t the worst either. ill keep getting my seeds from them because i dont like the post and id rather support a local business.
jesus you would think i worked there but no, im just a happy punter!
will have the pics of the new set up tomorrow
also have any of you guys tried topping any of your plants, i am not sure whether to top a couple of mine while i am in the fucking about with the plants stage of my grow.
later

Lu thats a great price. Was it a digital ballast? Im in the market for a hps kit. I can get one off the net for 120 delivered but thats just a digital ballast, hps and mh bulb.
Never heard of that strain Easter. I will keep an eye out though if its a good grower for out climate.

That strain might be a decendent from Williams wonder, seams to be easy enough to grow... I've decided on Hollands hope by Dutch passion for my outdoor grow this year. Plus couple of autos in the back garden for good measure, these can be hid at the back of the dog kennel if any unexpecting visitors arrive.

Just looking to pick up seeds and I see all the White Russian fem's are out of stock.
I do understand why there out of stock tough they are a gorgeous plant with very good yields and 22% thc. Cant go wrong and really easy to grow if anybody here is thinking of moving from autoflowers to photoperiod plants i would recommend them strongly.

How are things Jay been a while ! Still growing away all the time since you were kind enough to get me up and running last year and share your knowledge.
I seen these western wonders in my local grow shop last year but if I cant pick them up this year im gonna go with Holland hope also for outdoors ? When are you gonna start veg'ing your outdoor plants thats if you havent started already. Iv a feeling you will mother a plant and take clones for outdoor planting?

Read me like a book Easter..!!

Things are good at the moment... Decided to quit growing in the winter and make hay when the sun shines, so to speak..

I'll be ordering my seeds in a week or two from Pick and mix seeds (they were kind enough to give me a discount code)
and then as soon as its warm enough I'll start the operation...

I've still not found a spot to grow on yet as the plot i had last year was no good and it broke my balls lugging all the shit up there...

This year i think tomato grow bags will be the order of the day... hopefully these wont be too strong in nutes for my clones.. and easy enough to move to the new plot.....

So what you growing now Easter...?

Just finished a batch of easy-ryders again , I have a Sour cream plant going although she is very very sick and might not pull trough yet , I also have a wappa going which looks like it will produce alright both are early into the flowering period.
I am hoping I can pull off a decent outdoor crop this year , I am going to need to do some research on cloning cause I aint buying a big batch of seeds if its not necessary.

Got the seeds in the door today...fuckin fantastic service from herbies pick and mix boys, ordered on wednesday and they were here today :D Goin to germinate them tomorrow, I ordered 4 seeds all in, buddha demios, jock horror, ak/blueberry and fast budd so I'm well happy, still waitin on the light but hopefully that won't be too long now.

Irish I didn't think them things would put out a lot of heat still good find harrekin, on the bright side they'll not freeze and as stated elsewhere your more likely to get healthy females in the lower range of temperatures...plus you get a nice purple tint when their chilly :)
Yeah I wasnt expecting it to make the tent hot or heat it up from cold, the reason I got it was to maintain the temperatures that had already built up from the 12 hours of light which it does well enough I think...Iv had more growth in the last two days than I had in nearly 5 weeks before that, 5 weeks of 12/12 and barely pistils till I got the heater! I wouldve gotten a more powerful fan heater or oil filled rad but I was afraid of it getting too and burning the grow area down.

Last year i had the same probs with low tempretures, Eventally I went out and bought a little fan heater and most importantly it had it own thermostat build it so I was able to keep it at a constant tempreture of 25'c

You do hear of horror stories of peoples grow going up in smoke but a bit of commen sense will go a long way..

Well lads, I've started into my first grow. I'm using a CFL set up with bagseed. I've around 140w at the moment, with five plants just after popping.

First problem is that I'm using bagseed so I've no idea whether I'm going to have pots of sausage or if I'll be lucky enough to get a female at all. That's just a waiting game I guess.

Second problem is lighting, and this is where I'd love some advice from ye. I know that the general concensus is that CFL grows are inferiour to other lighting set ups, but at the moment it's a hell of a lot easier on the pocket for me to go with CFLs over something like a HPS kit and a ballast etc.

I know I'm short on wattage at the moment, so my plan is to double what I have. So basically I'd have about 70w of light for each plant (that's if I get four females!). I know a lot of ye either grow outdoor or use a HPS set up, but what would ye reccommend for my situation? I'm only growing for myself, so commercial sized yeilds aren't my realistic goal, I just want to avoid the '50bag on a stick' scenario!

Anyway, any feedback at all would be great, hope ye all had a good start to the new year!

lotusfeet, I grew a plant in a green house years ago. Just threw a bean in the dirt and watered once in a while. The thing grew about 7 and a half ft in a 6 ft green house and it was male:wall:

Kubla, what sort of cfl are you using? Are they 6500k? If so were did you get 'em?;-)

Were was this raid Lu?

Edit: Hope the top works out mate. I topped a bag seed i have growing in my tent yesterday. Not giving it a lot of love with the lights as i have them on the autos. Still, what i hope is a girl is looking good.

My haze and fruit are looking good. Haze will be done in about 3 weeks me thinks. Fruit is looking great. I LST'ed the shit out of her.
