tube heaters

My grow room is 2' x 3' x 5' not very large. I have 3 new seedling one week and less. Having problems controlling heat. I have T5 lamps on and a small fan to circulate. Currently I have it on 24/7 because everytime I turn lights of for like 18/6 it drops down to 62 degrees. I have searched and searched and the only thing I have found are tube heaters which I think would be good. :wall:

Here is the rub.... so far I can only find them in UK. I have googled to the end of the freakin internet and all the sites that I find are UK... I dont mind buying them from their but I think electric is different.

Anyone have suggestions? Please, I am not handy so I cant DIY stuff. Half the time I read stuff and say whaaat? I dont mean to be stupid, I really have searched. I want to make sure when it is time to bloom, I dont freeze my girls off. Alot of heaters and ambient light emminating.

Here is what I found http://www.hg-hydroponics.co.uk/2ft-80w-low-energy-tube-heaters-2078-p.asp

Thanks, It is with y'alls help that I got THIS far.

more info may be needed. Do you want to raise the temp of just your seedling area? or do you plan on the whole grow under the t5? You can get a heat mat made for seedlings/cloning etc from the online stores. If you plan on adding hid lighting in other areas of the garden, those will raise temps quite a bit depending on exhaust and cooling systems.

Pretty simple question, can you get tube heaters in North America? I can only find them in the UK as well... and don't want any adapters or wiring issues.

exactly my poin djdestroyer. thought maybe someone here was able to get their hands on that extensive google search as not picked up.

flamdrags420: I plan on using the bloom bulbs for flowering. I know it is not ideal but first grow, watching money and in bedroom where heat may become an issue. Hubby not thrilled I am doing this and would prob put him over edge having in and out vent filters humming all over. He is going to be shocked when they flower and I hook up carbon filter. He hates the smell and gonna be freaked! LOL

lights on constant because when i turn off it goes down to 62 degrees at night and affraid to low. Im afraid when and if we make it to flower turning off 12 hours will totally stress them out. (based on everything I have read.)

future germination I may get the heat pad or/and germ kits. I know very little, and just read alot, noone personal to ask so this is the only forum to use.

Also looking for humidifier... only at 33% now and know have to get that up once the girls start to take off.
Thanks

No worries Jill, 62 degrees is fine at night, it might slow them down a wee little bit, but not much. Many strains NEED a 10-15 degree drop at night to "color up" and show the blue and purples that are all the rage now. Hope this eases your concerns!!!
Good Luck!!!

PS I use a little box heater similar to this, if absolutely necessary you could set it up on a second timer to come on when your lights go off.

Mass97, would that heater be too large for that little tent? Im checking out humidifiers now as I tryed the spray the room with water trick... went up maybe 2 degrees. It is pretty constistant at about 33%. thought i would look for the hot and cold together that way maybe have on hot when lights off and cool when lights on??? works in my head but not sure in real life.

Thanks

Jillybean,
My grow room, soon to be just be the veg room, is a small cabinet, it's 1.5 feet wide x 3 feet long and 4 feet tall. The heater does fine, it has a small dial thermostat on it, not sure if the link I sent you had one or not. I think I picked mine up at Wal-mart or Target, I just didn't find the exact one when I did the web search. Mine is only 8 or 9 inches tall and about 6 inches wide and 6 inches deep.
There are also external thermostats you can buy which allow you to control the device more precisely, temp setting and range, etc. http://www.pexsupply.com/Johnson-Con...-120-240v-SPDT

We run 240v in the UK, so yes without a transformer you'll probably have issues.

Now you know how I feel with regards Pyrex Bake-A-Round glass for cooltubes. Can only get the buggers in the US, and the postage is hideously expensive.

Anyway, 62F isn't abysmal - I'm sure you can work with that.
