You've never gone to do manual labor and not get hired because they are paying the illegals 1/3 of what I'd need to live. My friend lost a job because the guy could hire 3 coked out illegals for a dollar less then he was paying him. I won't pick fruit? Go fuck yourself. I'd pick cotton if I needed work. The problem isn't we won't do the job...its that we won't do it at $3.50/h. Because our cost of living is insane....and we can't get benefits because there isn't enough for everyone. I bet if we shipped every illegal....black, white, Mexican....America would be booming. People would HAVE to do the jobs for a little less. Oh well. I identify with the European side of my family and they have been here since before the Revolutionary War. Actually, every other generation changes citizenship between the States and Canada; I'm the first not to do that in a very long time. I believe that you should be a legal citizen or have a real green card, you should be able speak English. If you want to vote you should have to show proof that you filed your taxes or an affidavit that you are not required to file a tax return.

which reminds me, 13 states are trying to pass a bill that reverses that "if you're illegal and you have a baby here in the states then your baby is a legal u.s citizen" bullshit. michigan is one of them. i really hope that goes through.

The U.S owes astronomical amounts in debt to other countries and when these countries seek to recoup their loans the dollar will fold and collapse. Thus leaving gold as the world currency. People far smarter than you or I have spotted this forecast it coming. Therefore demand for the currency which will be used when the dollar collapses has rocketed. If their were no illegal imagrants their would be less people and that would mean more existing housing if their were a shortage of fruit pickers they would have to hire americans and would have to pay them a livable wadge. the problem is with a surpluss of workers the workers are expendible and have no value because they can be replaced and paid a wadge below the cost of living which leads to unemployment and welfare as well as working people having to work two jobs and maybe still get welfare or having both parents working or having to take on mulitiple roomates to make ends meet.

Surely then your issue should lie with the system that is making use of the cheap labour and not the immigrants themselves. If these companies were ethical and not profit driven then there would be no issue. I'm sure slot of these fruit picking companies are owned and run by good wholesome Americans. How are you even getting into the 1915-1940 Era of Americana? It's 2011. Illegals here undercut....everyone. If they left we would HAVE to do the job. Simple as that.
