You will have to do some research on that bro, not allot of LED growers on here. And to say go with a 250w for 15 plants??? That is retarded! You also need to put down more info bro. What are you growing them in, how long do you plan to veg them, are you doing SOG, how big of a space are you looing to grow them in, we need allot more info brotha to give good advice.

Good Luck, you should do fine. Just go real easy on the nutes until you get the hang of it. Most new growers burn their plants down with fertilizer.

15 plants is a whole lot of vegetation to be growing under one light of any kind. Are you talking SOG, or what?

What strain/s are you growing?

I suggest you grow fewer plants and either top them, FIM them, or supercrop them. Your yield will be equal to twice as many plants.

edit: And regardless of what Howard says, there are many LED growers on here, and many have permenantly switched from HID.

That's a load of crap.

Look at this.

There's a lot of LED success stories out there.
Again you make bold statements. FWIW I followed that thread from the beginning and it is mediocre at best, to call it a success is a strech, but that is the best the is and like I said it is mediocre at best.

scroll back to the post I made and check out irish's grow. Also follow the links he puts in his first post.

Anyway, that was in response to someone's unproductive post which can be paraphrased as 'LED's suck, don't bother' which is a rather uneducated opinion. The reality is that most people on this site are low budget hobbyists; they either can't (or won't) spend enough to get something worthwhile, or they don't understand the technology and just can't make informed decisions. Regardless, just because he linked a post that you thought was "mediocre at best" really has nothing to do with the viability of LED's. That would be like someone buying a prius and then complaining that it won't do 0-60 in less than 6 seconds; Then assuming that all cars suck because that one make/model didn't live up to your expectations.

I agree that LED's can produce good yield and good product.

But saying that they produce denser and more potent bud than hps is just a load of horse shit!

bro i have read an article about growing plants using led.you know leds are made very different if we compare another bulbs they dont spread heat and its a benefit for regulating temperature. also the basic problem is choosing correct type of led.some leds only contain pure white photon and some ones are really great for plants they contain blue and red light spectrums so you need this type leds.i thought using led but i didnt be sure. i will try.even though the bulb include natrium vapour is better.look you need this if you want to use led.led_spectra.jpgfinally pay attention the color temperature 6500-2700 and the lumen.

The important part was he grew better buds with LED than his buddy did with HID. Same strain, and they both concurred.

The buds were dense and nice, and that puts a lie to the bs. Unless you think he's lying, then it's your problem.

The buds from my grow are actually more dense than my friends grown under 1000HPS (same clones). I can without a doubt assure you that these lights produce rock hard buds!
Checkout ChronicDoom's journal for a spectacular LED grow from a firstimer. There's plenty more.

Point is to set the record straight from the LED haters' sweeping generalizations.

P2170013.jpgDude, I'm about 45 days using a 240 W Blackstar and 2 90w Ufos that came with my cab...LED does work in veg, I can say that. The blackstar is a flowering model, so the next few months will tell. This is my first indoor hydro grow.
They are bushy, bright green, fast growing, bitches...5 widows and two carmelicious
