How close can you have a 1000watt light to your plant?

My plants are growing like 1in. a day and im running out of room(height). Its currently at 20in. from the top of the plant but whats the closest you can get it to??? thanx

18inch miminmum id say imo ive gt 4x8 tent 1000 n a 600 one came to look at em after one night and the top was burnt with the stretch so watch em!

yep agree with thefirstissoon. no closer than 18...(i'm assuming HPS, MH dont get quite as hot) but I'd keep either one around that distance

Is it air cooled? Is there a fan blowing across the canopy? It makes a big difference.

I agree. Mine are air cooled & fanned across canopy. I keep them 3ft away and run 12 in one room.

Yea they are air cooled lights with a 8in fan. cooling two 1000watts HPS.

Say again? Metal Halide does burn brighter and hotter. It's not th other way around.
