How to not get fat while toking?

Dude, I've run a half marathon totally baked!! Plenty of training goes in to being able to finish a race of that distance, meant plenty of baked training sessions too ;-)

Now I'm old and fat....... but never really from the munchies. Too many business lunches and a few pints down at the pub after work ha ha.

I weigh less now than when I came out of boot at Dago in the 70's. Used to pack in at 220 and it was all muscle. Now I'm lucky if I see 185. Light in my steps and a strong wind is trouble.

And just so you know, I eat like a fucking machine. Breakfast at 6am, snack at 10am Lunch at 1, nother snack at 3 and supper around 6pm. I refuse to eat "Fast Food" or restaurant food. Homemade from scratch.

And my snacks consist of fruit, not greasy chips or other "processed food products".

And being skinny means I ain't got no ass cheeks so sitting on benches or unpadded chairs is uncomfortable as all hell.

I think this thread is a little silly, just because you get the 'munchies', which I get every day, doesn't mean you have to eat the ass out of the fridge or all the oreos in the cupboard. A little self control will get you very far in this world. And yes, the gym and healthy eating is the way most, even non stoners stay in shape..

Instead of eating cookies eat carrots
instead of eating the whole box of cereal, eat 1 bowl...

personally i have a very high metabolism any way, i can eat and eat and put on very little weight, when im stoned i eat so much on a usual day ill eat breakfast lunch then dinner, then ill eat stuff like pizza burgers chips after that when i get the muchies :D

My metabolism was like that until I turned 30. Once I hit 30 it was like a switch was flipped and the "get fat gene" was turned on lol

I have this route I run everyday, it's probably about a mile long. I try to eat stuff that'll make the run light, shit like granola bars or oatmeal tastes just as good as any candy bar or bowl of cereal.

Another huge difference is soft drinks. If you switch to just water, you'll drop weight QUICK! Also, once you stop drinking so much of the syrup in those drinks you feel a million fuckin' times better, can't emphasize that enough!

Right now I can run and I don't get tired, I'm 6'2 and weigh 170lbs. If you looked at my body you would see clear muscle definition. Back in August I started this routine, just running everyday or every other day and cut out the soft drinks. I was at around 190lbs in the beginning.

I think the easiest way to not gain weight is understand the consequences that come along with being unhealthy. I'm fuckin' petrified of getting cancer or a tumor or something like that, so the easiest way I can think to avoid that is just keep your body healthy at all times. Eating cupcakes n shit, the momentary satisfaction you get from that isn't equal at all to the satisfaction you get when you know you're healthy, feel good and look in the mirror and like what you see.

My theory is that the majority of people are fat not because they eat too much, but because they eat toxic food. Not to sound alarmist, but the majority of foods that can be purchased at a local big grocery store, are in fact toxic on some level. Food preservatives, additives, and storage/longevity proceedures are all toxic to the human body. When the body ingests these inorganic toxins (literally "not organic", as in containing no carbon http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Organic_matter ) it can't quite deal with them, so they get stored in fat until they can be broken down and expelled.

there is something to be said about processed foods, and microwaves. It might be "lean cuisine," but it's full of stuff your body recognizes as "not food". after something get's microwaved, it's even more "not food."

at any rate that's my theory. I'm not here to push "organic" food, because there's alot of BS with that. What i would try to suggest is getting into a more "whole food" mentality.

for example eating an apple, whole, raw. instead of peeled, cooked, canned, pasteurized, perserved apple sauce. IE no "junk" food, i perfer to think of it as "play" food, because it's not really real, as in nutrient dense. can't be considered food. if you stop buying things of this nature, then they won't be in your house when you get the munchies. I usually eat trail mix when i get the munchies. nuts, seeds, dried fruit, awesome.

This actually the best advice anyone has offered in this thread.. so far.

This is an actual method of not getting the munchies.. eat before you smoke!

You should wait, about 30 minutes after you have eaten.. then smoke. NOT immediately after you eat.

Give your food time to settle.. then smoke. (30 minutes at least)

Most of the food I keep in the house needs to be cooked so that slows down eating.

If you buy all junk food then you're not making it easy on yourself.

That's a great idea, kills two birds with one stone. You end up learning how to cook pretty good food too.

i usually eat stuff like snow peas, or crunchy carrots, :D , things like chips are awesome so try some natural chips,they have many made from sweet potatoes, also theres these 100 calories snack packs, only problem is you gotta stop at the 1 pack hehe but they have LOTS of yummy ones like oreos, chips ect also i like nuts, or seeds

eating lowers my high, so i dont generally eat when i get very baked, although i pigged out a bit today, im not gonna lie lol
