if thats your issue get a cool tube put them as close as yours are.
omg cool tubes are not part of this , they really are a waste of space unless used vert.if thats your issue get a cool tube put them as close as yours are.
why blue spectrum ??? im confused tho i like your idea ?Rock your Vert HPS and use some horizontal flouros in combo with it, 6000k Lumens or more, Cool Blue Spectrum. For the extra $50-100 you wont regret it...
Double up on

2x these floros is 8000k Lumens
ahh i see yeah my 250w vert hood is mh and compensates for that , you have to imagine i have 2 parabolics hanging in top of my tent , so i would use something like that for side lighting ???Blue spectrum and red spectrum combined are the best of both worlds, can be used in unison for vegetation and flowering growth. I have a HPS blub that is high on the blue and red spectrums, Simply speaking it makes your plants short and maximize with yield.
How bout a 1000w on a light mover?? hmm lolTheres been a heated debate for years, If you ask people on a forum your gonna get mixed opinions.. You just gotta do you. I have been to Amsterdam as well, Barneys farms uses horizontally hung bulbs in the same reflector style that i own. Its preference, Im telling you in my opinion and in my garden style, I would rather hang horizontal. In Amsterdam they use vertical and horizontal mixtures, which is the best of both worlds, all light conversion charts of your bulbs, the graphs is with horizontal results. Its also more cost effective to run 2x 600Watt HPS lights VS. 1x 1000Watt HPS, Its a proven fact for more lumens per sq ft for the price.
You can man, Theres a million ways to harvest crop. You just gotta decide where you invest your money for the most efficient or convenient grow room. your choice!ahh i see yeah my 250w vert hood is mh and compensates for that , you have to imagine i have 2 parabolics hanging in top of my tent , so i would use something like that for side lighting ???
you just said that the issue you wanted to clear up was the heat and distance issue correct or do i have to quote you. i answerd it now its not apart of this??
and now they are a waste of space??
lol so what are you trying to acomplish here??
the question your asking is silly its like asking what is better a car or a bike well depends are you driving through snow up a mountin or are you racing on the hwy it all depends on your grow room
do you have any pics of what you are up to ? would be good to see ? =DYou can man, Theres a million ways to harvest crop. You just gotta decide where you invest your money for the most efficient or convenient grow room. your choice!
I think you would get as good a result by placing your plants on a good reflective surface.......BBahh i see , well the side lighting seems like a good idea , dont forget tho , even growing outdoors they dont get pure 12hours sunlight, plus cloud cover ,shade caused by diff things and of course the days when it rains , i am gonna rep ya for your info ....=D
just a thought , i wonder if anyone has tried growing on a glass shelf and shining light up from below ?? theres a thought .....
lol OK i guess you know everything then why bother asking????? you just wanted to start a thread just to have a long drawn out convo and then no matter what any one says you'll still think your right.......i bet allot of people have called you hard headed right.omg mate first can you use a spell checker as your not making alot of sense ,
ok,
yes i want to know pro's and cons of hanging vertically or horizontally, where talking hoods my friend , a cool TUBE has little or no shade and i have only ever seen them used vert or in a real tight enclosed space , hardly what we are touching on , how is my question silly ? and if so why are you replying , plus your cliche was hardly relavant , im not a begginer, i am trying to understand the better method for my area , thats all, cool tubes in a closet or hung between plants are great, dont get me wrong......
and if you knew what you talking about you would know that mirrors and glass dont reflect light....ahh i see , well the side lighting seems like a good idea , dont forget tho , even growing outdoors they dont get pure 12hours sunlight, plus cloud cover ,shade caused by diff things and of course the days when it rains , i am gonna rep ya for your info ....=D

why dont you read the rest of the thread ???and if you knew what you talking about you would know that mirrors and glass dont reflect light....
ok guys lets here your views please , which is better a hood that hangs your bulb vertically or horizontaly ???
my light is still above the plant just in a parabolic hood so yeahlol OK i guess you know everything then why bother asking????? you just wanted to start a thread just to have a long drawn out convo and then no matter what any one says you'll still think your right.......i bet allot of people have called you hard headed right.
bottom line get one plant measure the a vertical set up and a horizontal one with new bulbs then see what you meter says...
i proved perfectly valid points
1 plants absorb light from the top so light at the top of the plant will pass through more leaves than a light on the side
2 a reflector gives 60% more light on one side that would have gone the other way and been wasted or gone to another plant
3 you say that you tested it did you remove the variables?? were both lights the same distance from the plant?
what are you points on using vert? i havent seen many
