well i always consider myself a noob, but this is my first time growing in such a cold climate and everything isnt dialed in, as stated all of my flowering plants are doing well and the hempy plants are doing the best, i do see that i constantly have to tilt this soil for better aeration and its so many different strains i cant even begin to name genes, sorry for the lack of info as i have no cash for a ph tester but as of now my temp is 90 and humidity is 34% i will fix the humidity now but other then that the live plants show no problems just slow growth...You're probably drowning them.
MG Moisture control soil is reputably the worst medium you could use to grow cannabis. There's also a complete lack of aeration material like perlite present.
You provide no information regarding temperature, humidity, watering schedule, pH information, water quality, genetics, etc, etc, etc. The omission of what is obviously pertinent information when diagnosing a seedling issue demonstrates to me that you don't know any of this with certainty.
The inability to measure your environment is your issue. You need to invest in higher quality media, hell, black gold would be a step in the right direction. And please add 1 part perlite for every 3 parts soil at the minimum. Crushed dolomite lime at 1 Tbsp. per gallon of media is a good idea as well.
There are other factors that need to be matched when growing a seedling. Temperature range, humidity range, watering frequency and pH and EC, as well as proper air circulation around the plant to strengthen the stem and assist respiration.
I took a look at your very ambitious "50 strain" noob grow and was very disappointed in what I saw. I'm not sure if someone has said this to you before, but you NEED to do more research. A lot of your problems are probably really common sense shit.
Get Fox Farm Ocean Forest. Its PH Adjusted and a mix of beneficial things like dead fish, perlite, guano.. etc. Shit is cheap 8-25$ for a bag depending how much you need, You can only get it at specialty gardening stores or hydroponic stores. It is able to grow your plants for the first 4-6 weeks until you can get some more dough together.well thank god i kept the receipts for the Moister Control soil(that stuff keeps the bottom of containers too wet allowing no/poor root growth) I will be picking up 2 bags of MG reg potting soil as i had no issues in the past with it, plus its like a couple bucks cheaper...
naw just one - i transplanted in MG reg potting soil, should see some fast results in the up and coming week, weather good or bad results...do you have multiple seedlings in that container?
if hes gonna be crackin beans he might want to pick up some light warrior...Get Fox Farm Ocean Forest. Thanks man, but i think its the soil as i had this problem before bout 14months ago, this time i know the problem, thats y i always use clear containers to monitor root growth which in tern saved most of my babies...i grow in MG from sprout, never had a problem before, i always have nice healthy seedlings...your problem isnt soil related, imo. its kinda hard to tell from the pictures but you're either drowning them or they're too dry...the way the soil is cracked it looks like they got dried out at one point.
well i dont like the MG Moisture stuff - Im better with MG reg potting soil - so i transplanted all today and should be returning the 3 bags of the MG Moisture stuffyup. i use mg moisture control.
interesting. i hope you get better results with the other MG. did you fertilize your seedlings at all?well i dont like the MG Moisture stuff - Im better with MG reg potting soil - so i transplanted all today and should be returning the 3 bags of the MG Moisture stuff
i got the reg MG potting soil, but it had nothing to do with nutes as when i transplanted and noticed the roots they were deprived of air, and showed no growth... I think all is better now, we'll see...interesting. i hope you get better results with the other MG. did you fertilize your seedlings at all?
whatever you do, dont get the organic mg soil....that soil burned the shit out of my plants when i tried it out.
do you just use straight mg potting soil or do you add topsoil? i like to "dilute" it a bit with topsoil, vermiculite and perlite, i dont know if it helps or hurts since ive never done a side by side, just wondering how you do it.....i also add a little bit of that organic shit just to get rid of it..i got the reg MG potting soil, but it had nothing to do with nutes as when i transplanted and noticed the roots they were deprived of air, and showed no growth... Sounds like a Environmental issue. Ive never had a fungus nat in my grow room ever.. I rock OF all day, For years.. Light warrior is a great choice too.if hes gonna be crackin beans he might want to pick up some light warrior...
only other thing, ive gotten fungus gnats from my OF straight out of the bag and after potting... even when i drenched it with azamax i ended up seeing one fly around in my kitchen near the pots. i verified it was the ffof by separating from everything else, and coming back with one flying around. im not trying to knock their shit, and i dont know if it is a common thing with soil to get fungus gnats, but i do know my light warrior doesnt have any. i grow in hydro but use soil here and there for mothers and clones.
also, just want to add that it wasnt a huge fungus gnat problem, it did not get out of control. ive had a total of 4 fungus gnats, but ended up giving the rest of the ffof to my homeboy who needed it.
naw i just use strait MG reg potting soil, everytime i go with something else it bites me in the assdo you just use straight mg potting soil or do you add topsoil? i like to "dilute" it a bit with topsoil, vermiculite and perlite, i dont know if it helps or hurts since ive never done a side by side, just wondering how you do it.....i also add a little bit of that organic shit just to get rid of it..
