Hey guys,

So I figured I'd throw up a journal of the remainder of my current grow since I am growing a strain (cheesequake) that there is a pretty limited amount of info/pics available out there currently for.

So first things first, the setup:

-4x8 Secret Jardine Tent
-465cfm exhaust fan
-2x 600 Lumatek Digi ballasts running BlockBuster XXL Hoods
-6 inch ducting w/ carbon filter
-2x 3x3 botanicare Flood and Drain tables each w/ it's own 20 gallon reservoir
-4x8 homemade screen made w/ 2inch poultry netting.
-3 mini fans for circulation inside the tent.
-1000gph Sunleaves Air Pumps for each reservoir hooked to a micro pore boss hog air stone to keep the solution aerated and nutrients mixed up.
-Merlin RO system

Nutrients:

Canna Aqua Flores A+B
Canna BioBoost
Cannazym
PK 13/14
GH Subculture B & M
Botanicare Sweet
Botanicare Cal-Mag
GH FloraBlend
GH Floralicious
Dutch Master Silica
Advanced Nutrients Big Bud and Overdrive (leftovers from a previous grow, gonna try and use em up here)

Obvioulsy I am not adding all of these to the reservoir at once. :P

Currently this is week 5 of 12/12. About week 4 of actual flowering. Attached are some pics from the garden from a night or two ago. The 2 on the right side are Querkle the 3 on the left side are Cheesequake. As you can see the cheesequake looks a little burned. They seem to be relativey picky eaters. The ppm's have never got much above 1200 yet they are still showing signs of burn. I initially thought the issue was a mag deficiency as it started out looking that way. I supplemented a little extra magnesium in the form of epsom salts but it did not clear up the issue. It has instead progressed a little more. So I have cut back my feeding slightly on the CQ's. Next go around I will keep the PPM even lower, probably around 1000. Temps are mild in the tent, 74-75 during lights on, 68 w/ lights off. Humidity is hovering around 40%. I will try to update this thread once a week until harvest w/ new pics. Feel free to post questions or comments and Thanks for looking! ;)

WOW.

What a grow.

Hmm. Not sure why you're trying to get rid of your Big Bud - love that stuff. It really bumps up a grow and has really done wonders since I starred using it a few months ago.

I actually haven't used anything else but Advanced Nutrients, so I can't comment on the rest of your nutes. But I imagine that you've done your research since there are so many.

I don't use that many. I would get too confused. LOL

Gonna keep watching this one.

Actually I am not trying to get rid of the big bud. Sorry it did kind of sound that way. I just had a 1 liter bottle with enough for like 3 feedings left in it that I am going to try and use it sparingly during the next few weeks. I actually like big bud. Bud candy and Big Bud both seem to be a really good value as far as AN is concerned and I actually just ordered some of both.

Yeah I'm definitely usng a lot of additives but they all have different benefits and many of them are used at different times. For instance I only give the silica during veg and the first few weeks of flower when the plants are stretching to give the branches the added strength to hold up the donkeys. lol
Big bud I only use weeks 4-6 and overdrive week 7. I only use pk 13/14 week 3. Some of them I use all the time though, cannazym, florablend, floralicious, sweet as these don't really add much overall to the TDS and they are beneficial all throughout the plants life cycle.

Glad to have you on board, the next few weeks should be exciting as this is when all the magic happens. lol :)

New pics coming in a couple hours. Just waiting on the lights. I also just ordered myself a sentinel environmental controller and a 20lb c02 tank w/ regulator. :)
Can't wait to get that set up but I am probably gonna wait till my next run as this one is too far along to see all the benefits from it.

I took the close ups to show the resin and also you can see on some of the calyxes and tips of the leaves have some purple tint to them. So it does look like I have phenos that will do some purpleing. I am a little dissapointed in the size of the flowers on the querkle. This is the beginning of week 5 and they are looking pretty skimpy to me. I'm not sure I will be running those again if that they don't put on some serious weight in the next few weeks. The leaf issues on the cheesequake are a little more apparent in these pics. I'm still not sure if it is burn or a deficiency. Some of those necrotic spots make it seem like Ca deficiency. But the leaves kind of look burned as well. I'm using RO water but I am supplementing with Cal-mag at about 7ml per gallon. I'm stumped. If anyone has any suggestions as to what those leaves are trying to tell me I'd like to hear em. Well, thats it for now. I'll grab some more pics next week.

Bleh, Cat broke my camera last week. So I haven't had any pics to update with. Gonna pick up a new camera soon but I just don't have the cash at the moment. Plants are looking good, 2 of the CQ's will come down this week, one of them is lagging way behind and looks like it could be a 10 weeker. One of the querkles may be a 10 weeker or longer as well. It seems to be a more sativa pheno, it's taller and has thinner more elongated buds like a sativa. It is also significantly behind it's querkle sister that it is sitting next to. But that sativa looking querkle is probably the frostiest in the garden. Some of the top buds are literally caked. Now onto the bad news. I have popped my last pack of TGA genetics. One of the querkles (which have been amazingly healthy throughout this grow) is starting to hermie up. I've had this issue with other TGA strains before. Perfect environmental conditions but still seem to always get late game hermies. I've been reading about other people having the same experience so I'm giving up on the TGA gear for a while. I've got a plethora of genetics hanging around to choose from right now. I've already popped some vanilla kush for next round. I've got some clones I took off the CQ and querkles which I am gonna grow out with these vanilla kush's for next run. I might replace the TGA strains with either some Tahoe OG or some Super Skunk from sensi. Still decinding on that one......

i'm running cheesequake, querkle, and tahoe og right now....great minds think alike i guess. i'm on 1st week of 12/12. can't wait to see what the CQ will do. hard to tell from your pics, but are the buds very leafy on the CQ?
i've been running TGA strains for a while now. have not had any hermie issues yet. i've always been in 7gal. pots w/ subcool's supersoil. works like a charm every time.

really? can you explain some more, im super interested in tryin the quake
the buds themselves are actually quite dense. More so than the querkle turned out. However, the buds have a significant amount of leaf growing out of the side in layers. It was a lot more work to trim than most of the other strains I have run so far. However, I didn't get too carried away trying to get all the leaf out. They're pretty dry now and while there is a bit of leaf left on them still, they look good for the most part, I might clean up a few buds but they have that nice sloppy hand trim look if you know what I mean. lol
