Ventilation Question +rep

Hey all, I have got a 100x100x180cm tent with a 600w HPS( I have ballas and bulb) I will be ordering my cool hood next week. I was wondering what size fan should i get, Should i get a 5inch 365m3/hour fan or a 6inch 470m3/hour fan?

Get the 6 inch, you can always attach a speed "dimmer" to it. Works just like a light dimmer but dims the speed of the fan instead. 6inch ducting is more widely available as well.

i dont know why every one keeps saying that, as i said where i live i can get all parts for 5 and 6 inch easyerly

The ducting is never an issue, maybe he is American so they have fewer 5 inch ducting options but you are right, 5 inch is everywhere here. I cant understand though why you are making this such a big decision for yourself, everyone is saying go bigger on here, the bigger fans sucks more, it's only a tenner more and the extra price on fittings is minimal, why are you stalling so much on this??

Surely if you are uncertain then you should express your reasons for this, otherwise you will have people pooping 6 inch fans all over this thread till the cows come home, buck up and make a decision man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ya i guess it is an american thing. i would still say go bigger, cant hurt. not going to cost much more as opposed to running one that is only one inch smaller.

Well i couldnt order off ebay but i found a online shop that sells that fan so i basicly brought that fn u gave me the link to so ye 6inch

got my fan today, also the spare parts for my tent (had problems with the poles), in a week or 2 ill be getting my cool hood again thanks all for help and input.
