Waste Disposal After a Grow has Finished?

Anyone got any good ideas to get rid of the soil, stems etc now the harvest has been done????

BTW. I got what looks to me like about 5oz of K-Train. I will post a smoke report on here soon as I know they are none about. To me it doesn't look all that 'crystally' and might not contain much THC (who knows though, i don't)

I save all the stems and stuff, especially the little stems that are close to the bud. When I have enough, I grind them all up in a food processor or coffee grinder and use the resulting powder for making brownies. Definitely worth keeping. I save almost everything in a brown paper bag.

You can return the soil to the earth (put in your backyard) or you can always recycle and reuse if your a bit on the green side. Theres products that break down root mass and help return beneficial properties back into the soil. Stems and what not you can always run over with your lawn mower and spread around the yard :D.

If it's a relatively small grow...get rid of a little bit each week. I dump like 2 gallons of dirt spread throughout my trash...once a week until it's gone.

Cheers mate. Thats what I have always done. I don't have a yard/garden and sod all space so it is a right pain. Also my local council has started going 'recycle mad' and make us separate everything into a special box so there is not much use for 'black bin bags' any more.

Whatever fast food restaurant I visit that week gets a small bag full. You'd be surprised how much you can compress into a single bag.

Get a worm bin and recycle it for the next grow.
I chop the stems into 1 inch lenght, and use that to make my castings more fluffy and aerated. Breaks up the root ball and let the worms have their way in it. When the worms move through the "spent" soil, they rejuvenate it and make it ready for a new potting mix. I'm trying to be 100% frugal with my grow op.

some guys use their dirt over and over. they just keep it living and amend it. If you don't like that, drop it into some other bin at night. just do it at a random time and place where no one will see. i mean, who is gonna check out someone throwing trash into a bin if you look the part. small bags leisurely tossed, without you looking all paranoid. just pass by and chuck it in. don't go to the same one, change it up. I personally have bins(20 gallon) in my house, and i put the plant matter and soil in there, then spray it with one cup vinegar, one cup corn syrup, one cup ammonia and it breaks it down real quick. then i just fill in my flower and garden beds. I supposed after a few years i will run out of space to add flower beds, but for now it works great. I"m legit, but i caught LEO in my back yard one night. Real legal mess there, but i don"t fuck around now. I dont ever give them anything tangible.

Make sure to let the leafs dry some before you put them in the worm bin. They will remain green for a very long time in that moist environment.

Why would you spray vinegar and ammonia on anything going in soul?

take it to the tip mate? or see if one of your mates has a green waste bin and trade them some bud for the use of it? failing that you could go the way of the great escape and start filling your pockets lol

because i have a firm grasp on science. ammonia and vinegar break done the plant matter and convert over to a fertilizer. the corn syrup is for the micro organisms, they break shit down also. its just what my brain and tried and true experience tells me to do. not my first day on the job here, bud.

What's the science around ammonia and vinegar breaking down plant matter? Ammonia is alkaline and vinegar is acidic - do you put both on at the same time or alternate?

Man, I remember one time we were throwing out a boy into the compost bin in our backyard. Did we chop it up or anything? NOOOO. Silly stoners. Here comes the neighbour in the house behind us, taking out his trash, and we're right there with a damn pot plant looking like kids who got caught stealing from the candy shop. I moved to block his view, nobody said anything, and we went about our bidnezz. Needless to say, we'll not be slacking anymore, the remnants are gonna be chopped up something good when they go out into the bin.
