I have a 400 hps and added 2 side 26 watt cfl's to my 5 white widow plants. Is that enough light? I recently purchased a cfl replacing 300 watts, I think it is 62, would that help to add? I am also looking into purchasing a 400 hortilux super hps bulb to replace the current 400 bulb, will that make a difference? or will I still need more light? I am worried about my electric bill, it doubled and I scared, was going to buy another 400 hps but want to keep electricity use down. Thank you

Yeah that's plenty, more never hurts. If your bulb is getting old then the deluxe might be worth it.
will the hortilux be like using more light? The 400 i am currently using has only been used since early december, so it is still new, i think, unless they go bad fast. Used it to flower 3 months 12/12

yes they produce more light per watt, 3 months is still fresh, a year old and you may want to replace. Just add more cfls for now since you've got them. 6500 K is nice to enhance the HPS 2700 K light.

sure 6500 K gives you more chlorophyll activity/watt, 2700 K stimulates more flowering. A combination of the two is ideal.

Ok, let me make sure I got this right. I can add a few of the 6500k, normally used for vegging, to the mix and that will not hurt my flowering? If that is the case, im so there! Thanks frmrboi!!!!

So do I use the same reflecor I am currently using for my 400 hps bulb? And not use the ballast at all? I dont mind if it is 600 watt, I just dont know what to put the bulb into if I can not put it into the reflector I have.
