for an exact figure I would need your electricate rate for your city. Mine is $0.0075/kwh. Thats 7.5 cents per kilowatt hour. 300 watts would need to be on a little over 3 hours to cnsume one kilowatt hour.. You do the math for a month and your rate.
Phone your local power company maybe they'll give you a quote. Switching light bulbs will have done a lot to equalize your consumption. A computer and and a television consume roughly 300 watts an hour so turning them off as much as possible will help.okay, i will try finding the rates for where i live again. not sure where to get that exact info but i will keep looking. farmerboi, your response is encouraging. utilities are included in my rent and i dont want to exceed my cap (well, as little as possible)
yea i found out the rate, its 0.164 kwh.. sucks. with my 264watt system plus fans i am estimating around $1.39/day to run which will be about an extra $40 a month on my electric. i hope switching out the other incandescents for 10watters help. i am thinking they will.
well that makes me wonder, because i have a rubbermaid grow about to be going very soon and i only have about 2 feet of height clearance. i will be growing all autoflowers so they will be small but if keeping the light on 24/0 is going to make them stay small i might be inclined to do it since LST with autos is a no go..
