sorry, that Koy (the fish) looks like pressed "pot metal" i'm 99% sure it's a reproduction of something more valuable...however it still might be worth a good bit.

if you couldn't see the seam where the dies joined it would place it as brass or some other "classy" metal. it looks to be brass plated. If it is magnetic it's dead give away, but it might be non-ferrous as well.

EDIT: i worked for a brass refinishing company that specialized in lamps. i wouldn't assume the cord is original equipment either.

That's why you sell possible antiques that haven't been professionally appraised to complete idiots and tell them a bogus story about how you found them to make them think they can rip you off.
