Wassup guys and gals,
I know its been a while and I'd asked a million and one questions. But now it's time that I finally finished my grow room the other week. Still making minor adjustments, because this is my first grow cabinet. Well to tell the history of how I made it.....
Well first of all I went to Lowes and bought the 48" wide cabinet. which costed me about 140 bucks. 48" White Multi-Purpose Storage Cabinet
So the next step I went to research more and more on the lights. I ended getting for the reflector the super sun 2 - 6 inch air cooled reflector, sun system 10 switchable ballast, and a reg sylvania MH bulb. I bought a CMH bulb also from another website. Total cost 290 bucks.
For the ventilation system I purchased 4 computer fans which, push or pull about 54 cfm's. I also have another computer fan as an duct fan sucking the hot air from the light. I also purchased a fan from walmart, which in total costed me about 60 bucks.
Now as you can see in the picture that I used the top level to hold all the electrical shit, and stuff related to the cabinet on the top. The one thing that bothers me, is that the ballast gets hot and I think it makes the cabinet a little warmer. So I don't know wether to put the ballast on the top of my cabinet stealthily or should I just leave it on the top shelf in the cabinet.
But there's my cabinet.
Before cabinet was made:
Now for Runt Jr., she's a survivor. She germinated little before christmas, so I planted her in regular potting soil with no nutes with a CFL light. She sprouted up fast, and strong. The only thing, in a couple of days it was going to be christmas and friend had to plant watch. Like an ass, he pretty much neglected my plant giving her minimal light, and overwatering her. So when I picked her up, she was so stressed. The leaves weren't coming out right and the growth was slow. Later when I finally got her soil almost dry, she started to perk. Now she was doing fine, and I tried topping her,and I accidently cut off a fan leaf and one of the new shoots were one of the two tops were going to come out. Never do it stoned again. But anyhow's I went on a short trip again, but left it at my place and watered her before I left. When I came back she grew but was touching the CFL lights. So some of her tips were burnt from touching the lamp and curling.
After cabinet was made:
Finally I finished the cabinet recently, and she's been inside for about 1.5 weeks. So I put her in the new cabinet and found that she started curling a lot. I don't know the main reason why her tips started to curl, but I figured it was time to get some nutes. So I picked up some fox farm potting soil and some ff grow big nutes. I transplanted her into a bigger pot, and now she's starting to spot with yellow and a couple of leaves are dying. I really don't know what the problem is, but I'm trying to eliminate everything possible. Could it be heat? Shock to HPS light? Overwatering? Lack of Nutes? Please help me so, I can continue my grow journal. Your input is much needed.
FYI: I don't know what kind of strain runt j is but she smells good!
