Using 400W HPS for vege stage

Hi

I have 2 tangerine dream seedlings 2 weeks into the vege stage. I am using a 400W HPS Phillips Son-T lamp (more red spectrum I understand) in a 1x1meter room.

Everythings looking sweet with regards to growth so far, but I
was wondering how high above the plants I should hang the HPS lamp at this stage.

The temperature in the room with the HPS on is about 32 degrees celcius with humidity between 40-50. Will the high temperature cause growth issues.

Another thing, both seeds germinated at roughly the same time only thing is one has shot up in growth and already smells pretty skanky where as the other looks healthy but is maybe half the size and has little or no smell. I realise nature has many design intricacies but being a designer seed does this seem normal.

Please excuse my ignorance. First time grower with high expectations....

Cheers

3-4 feet until they get big is plenty! I use a 400w too.

98F or 32C is really hot and will slow the grow. Get a couple fans, one for the plants and one for the light.

Think of the seeds like puppies, some are big and some are small in the same litter.

I thought it seemed to hot. I have an inlet fan blowing directly onto the plants and small outlet fan in the cieling. But being a small room it still bakes when the lights on... I'll sort a fan out for the light.

Cheers
