I went deep.I put my fan above the room in the attic and put my carbon filter inn the attic as well.they both sit right above the closet,I cut 3 holes in the roof of the closet.1 hole for my exaust fan which went to the carbon filter and the other two holes wher for light heat.the fan sat in the attic 440cfm and I ran my vent hose too the light and the other end of my light the exaust.I ran too the 3rd hole which pumped the heat in the attic.you never heard the fan or seen it.its a big difference too having it inn the attic.cut nice circels in the attic so you can dry wall them back in.and now they have popcorn spray you cant even tell.

So its ok to dump the heat from your light into the attic? But not the exhaust from the filter?

Is that what your saying?

I made a thread about this not too long ago. My phone doesn't want to copy and paste the link but this is what I did. That's art foamboard that I cut to fit the window, I left the blinds on so nothing is visible from from the street. Cut hole for duct flange and attach ducting, use tape to seal off any air or light leaks. On the other window I cut a hole in the foam for fresh air and covered with a pillow case to keep light out. Last pic is what it looks like from outside.

If you can, blow up! Anytime I have blown air outside at near ground level your going to get mites. They smell the plants I think and are also drawn to the heat. My current place has a unused chimney that we ducted to exhaust our air. No problems for four years.

in the winter i dump the hot air into the bathroom next to the closet. In the summer it goes out the bathroom ceiling vent.
