thats wsup, just replaced the water, and everything seems to be going fine. my low water and low nute meter is flashing, but i figured that seeing im not going exactly by the book. but anyway, im going to walmart to get these lights yall are talking bout. Are they the tubes or the grow lights?

Aerogrow just started selling their new PRO series gardens. They are a normal aerogarden, but made to grow weed. The new ones have a 24" clearance from the hood to the base now (they doubled the hood distance), a 24 hour light cycle for vegging, and the new pro series hood has TWICE as much light as the original. They sell it for $200 as opposed to the $150 of the original. Dont get too sad if you bought the original though, as they offer an upgrade kit on their website from the old to the new for $100 (im positive you could beat them up on the price over the phone. I got SO much free stuff by calling them each day before mine shipped and saying i was going to cancel) The only thing i think the upgrade kit doesnt do is add the slight internal differences between the two. Ill paste it below.

Deluxe Upgrade Kit

Grow full sized, tomatoes, cucumbers, bell peppers, eggplants, fresh herbs, and more with higher powered grow lights and 24-inch extendable lamp arm. Simple assembly, upgrade fits all 7-pod AeroGardens.

Yea I saw that new AG, those bitches are still on backorder too. I like my light fixture better though, and my biggest girl is like almost 3ft now. Doing really good too, starting to get some nice nugs.

nice man. yea i dont think for 100 bucks that light is that great. like you said it needs to be able to go higher then 2 feet, so your gonna end up hangin the 100 fixture. why not buy then one that world has for half the price and more lighting

Again, its just an option :) My pro series should be shipping tomorrow (they were on backorder till the 7th) If you were buying NEW, id really recommend the pro200. The most i may have to do is hang the light eventually. the 24hour setting also saves you from buying the other wire as well.

oh yea i havenothin against it man. its nice if they had that ag when i bought mine i would of spent the extra cash to get it. but if you have to hang the light you'll end up havin to buy that wire becuase the wire is only as long as the light extends. goodluck

I think my lighting may be to close to my plants, because the foam is turning brown, growth has stopped, and now they are turning a little yellow and drooping over. Could this be a problem? If so whats the best recommended height they should be from them?

Yea i changed the water i used my nutes i got flora products all three and some superthrive, but i have a different lighting going on. I have 2 125w cfls and a t5 floro light. They are hanging 5-6 inch's from the plants except the floro its hanging about a foot away.

Okay, but did your foam turn brown eventually and do you think they could of just stopped for a few days due to the changing of nutes?

the fox farms big blooms is the stuff that is made up of well mainly shit it cloggs the aero system. i use the aero lights the 125watt full spectrum cfl, 25 watt full spectrum cfl and t5 red, i have grown a total of 9 plants in 3 crops, now my ag is a shallow water culture it has more room in the res (i removed the pump tower) and added a 6 inch bubble disk. photos will come... if you ask me the ag is a great learning tool but there are better ways... DWC or stealth hydro is the next step

Does the AG pump tower do anything other than oxygenate the water ? Can you just replace it w/ a small aquarium pump and an air stone? I would think you would want as much space as possible for the root systems. I know they get big.

they get huge!!!!
the pump distributes water throughout the aerogarden i took mine apart so many times to clean it. I got so sick and tired of warm water in the res that i pulled it apart i am using airstones, and aquarium air pumps, witch creates a pretty good mist in the res.
WEEDCRAFT!
funky sponges could be the begining of fungus gnats, or root rot, if you see little black flies around add bacillius thuringensis thuricide or (BTI) it's a natural bacteria and fungiside that kills the little worms in your root mass, witch will eventually kill off all the flies. harmless to plants and people and animals. If unchecked your babies will die and when you dry and cure your buds, they will taste all sick

kinda pissed about this upgrade kit Im using the regular lights right now to veg some plants in soil and to have those upgraded lights would have been awesome.

Okay, since we're on discussion about roots and all, i might as well put this question out there... Like you've seen before i got 5 plants in the system right now (im including new pics below). Ive read that every one has been successful with 3, so i might need to make some changes.

Pic 1 is AK-47, its the smallest out the bunch, but its fought thru some haaard times, and now the roots are actually growing much better

Pic2 is blueberry x bubblegum (DELICIOUS  ), its the second smallest, and its looking pretty good besides the burns it suffered at birth.

pic 3 (back) is my baby, white widow x superskunk, looking very vibrant, the only plant with no nute burn.

pic 3 (front) is also AK-47, and its catching up pretty quickly to pic 4, and the roots are also beasting (root pic, on right)

pic 4 is the beast, AK- 47, nice fat indica leaves, with a big root system already (in the pis showing roots, its on the left)

So what do you suggest... i am a botanist guru when it comes to outdoors and soil, but the climate isnt warm enuff whea im at just yet, but to prevent me from wasting good seeds, advice is WELL WELL appreciated...

by the way this the middle of week 3... still havent put in my pump and airstone, and the lights are in the box... but i wanted this to be with AG tools only, well see what happens.... :hump:

Is warm water a bad thing? my water is warm, i thought that was essential to the rainforest like effect...?
