Perhaps I should run this sourd seed I have for a giggle. the sour d I have smoked was pretty much like the og kush, but a tad more sour rather than earthy/sweet.

Here is some shots of the DPQ F2 finished product. This was taken at just under 8 weeks.
hmmm yummy

Incredible is all that comes to mind when I look at that bud.

Question for my peeps in here:
Just got my seeds today and want to germall of them right away so I can start weeding out the weak. I don't have any seed starting soil, RW cubes or rapid rooters. Others have been posting that they stick their seeds stright into FFOF, should I risk the seeds and just do that or go get some seed starting soil?

Personally I use seed starter soil. Lots of gravel in it, npk of around 14-16-18. I am sure FFOF would be okay, just get a handfull of gravel or perlit and mix it with that....

i drop str8 in foxfarms soil with lotsa perlite.. they'll germ and be alright. fox farms light warrior is good for starting seeds, but this shit is really light.

the Sour D i have was a clone from a local clinic and seems to be on the sativa side of the spectrum with nice long colas and some nice size to them. they tend to fluffen up in the drying process but the smoke is a good head high. it doesnt have the true Diesel smell, which i wanted the most, but it does have a nice yield and amazing bud structure that seems to pile up at every node. i mainly picked it to breed with due to it having such vigorous growth and packed nodes. seems like Sour D is along the same lines as chem dawg from the looks of that post of each related strain. looks like youll have a few more Sour D cross seeds coming soon if all goes well! and some GDP cross!
sour d at least the one i am familiar with is from chemdawg.

I used the 3" Jiffy pots and the Jiffy seed starter mix. A pack of 22 of the pots and a bag of the moix wa only like $5-6 so I thought I'd give that a go. I like the fact that I should be able to just stick the whole plant, pot and all, into the new pot when it's time to transplant into a bigger one.
Did it yesterday afternoon with no soaking of the seeds as per Nirvana's suggestion so we'll see how it goes. I've soaked every other seed I've started so this is a first for me.

something to do with introducing moisture directly to the husk to induce faster germination of the tap root....at a guess.

Good afternoon (evening) everybody. I was wondering if I could ask for you help. I finally got my female Jackhammer, she's very sativa slender and just wrapped up week 3 of 13 at 12/12. I have the pollen from the male I had and am ready to use it. I want to choose a couple of the lower buds and "spluff" them only. I think I mean spluff. What I can't find is how to do it. Do I paint brush or plastic bag it? Also when to do it. I know it's average 4 weeks for seed to mature so it should be done around week 3 to 4 at the latest, but if it's a heavy haze with 13 weeks, should I wait until week 7 or 8? I'm ready to go but it's been a little uphill getting here and I'd like to get it right the first time so if anyone can offer some help or point me to a good read, I'd appreciate it very much

Thanks Duchie.

Hey Duchie, don't bother with the bag, I don't think you want that many seeds, plus they can be a pain as they create a lot of humidity. Tag the bud you want to use. Remove the plant from your flower room, use the lower buds, for a number of reasons, 1 easy to keep an eye on, 2 small so you will get a handfull of beans, not a million. 3 if you spluff and by accident a puff of pollen suddenly goes off, then there will be limited contamination.

Use a small paint brush, as a tip try to brush the bud you are going to spluff first, this will create a bit of stickyness on the brush, not too much as you don't want a whole brushfull of pollen. Then its a case of carefully apply. Within a day or so the hairs will start to crinkle back. FDD posted a video or pictorial that I saw some time ago. but it;s fairly straight forward. good luck and let us know if you got any more questions.

peace, dst
