i bought sum rubber flexible air stones to fit in my system they were workin fine and out of no where i see less bubbles and some places i dont even see bubbles!! im wondering is my roots still gettin oxygen? plus is there something dat im doin wrong... or these things just dont wrk for long!!! (i only had them for 2 weeks)

I never used them but if I were you I would go to the pet store and buy some cheap ones for back up ( i always keep a couple )

I have had some luck with washing them in very warm water, although then they only work for a few a more days before clogging again. I would look into some of the cylinder type air stones, last a lot longer than the blue ones or the flexible ones.

Yeah cylinder air stones are the way to go I no longer use the cheap ones you can buy at the pet store. The cylinder ones stand up the whole time no matter how much air you are rocking.

On this subject, do any of you have experience with the Boss Hog line of micro-pore ceramic kiln-fired diffusers? They are spposed to be awesome, im in the market to find a nice air diffuser for my 48 gal res, or two of em if need be. Want to get best possible aeration for a 48 gal res.

Yes I bought 3 of them ( I use 3 air stones per cooler bucket) They cost 20 bucks a piece from my local grow store. I didnt notice anything in regards to plant growth however you can tell with the naked eye they produce a lot more smaller bubbles. I wouldnt buy them again I just stick with the cylinder ones. I dont have any "boss hog" just the single micro pore diffusers.

I have never tried those, way to expensive for my budget. I have however seen an air stone that was like 8" diameter circle an inch thick with what i believe was a 3/8 inch inlet (like the outlet on commercial air pumps) I can imagine that thing puts out a lot of air.
