question about light times and hermies

ive got a friend with some plants under 18/6. the light is on from 6am to 12 midnight.
he wants to give them to me, so i can flower them. but my light is on from 11pm to 11am. wont this cause a problem if we take them directly from their environment to mine?

i was thinking of having him switch to 24/0 until saturday(when hes bringing them). that way when they get into my 11pm-11am environment, they arent shocked by it(that causes hermies right?). do u think 4/5 days is enough time to "reset" their clocks to 24/0?

I've heard you can give them 24 hours of dark before you put them into flower and that it will even promote flowering.

ive heard that too. i may do that. thanks

so... the other night i got a chance to be a trimmer for a huge grow. this guy had 39 1000W HPS's with air cooled hoods in one room. he had hundreds of plants. it had a DOPE ventilation system, including two 6ft air conditioning units and tons of ducting everywhere.
anyways, i asked em about my situation, and he said to throw em into 24/0, then about two days before i bring the plants here, switch to an 18/6 schedule that is compatible with mine. opinions on this?
