so...yeah. whats up with that? im almost 7 weeks in now and the trichomes are acting retarded...
im beginnin to hate my plant (cause i cant smoke it yet..it just sits there..tauntin..stankin up the place) and i'll be damned if i have to wait 2 additionall weeks! i'll go crazy man
so my question is : when the hell are the trichomes pose to turn cloudy!?

I have yet to have a plant be ready in 8 wks. Been growing WW for about a year now and it was described as an 8 week harvest, but typically I have to let them go 10+ to get the maturity I want. There is certainly variance among strains, but I believe the same strain can require more or less time according to conditions. And, the WW for example never does amber up the way I expected; maybe that's why it's called WW idk.

whats lights are you flowering under? i hear that can effect the rate at which it matures. i harvested my last ones at 9 weeks under CFLs and got a nice head high with almost no couch lock but i kinda like it so i may always harvest a little early idk. anyways yeah, if your not using a 600 watt + HPS i would expect a little extra flower time.

you know, theres been a discussion going on amongst growers as to the validity of cloudy trichomes as a barometer for ripeness.
The argument is that most growers are harvesting their plants too late. That clear tricomes are what you want to look for, and that amber trics are actually degraded more than they've "ripened."
Point is, waiting for amber trics is to late, and even cloudy trichomes are too old. Thats what theyre saying anyways.
Supposedly you harvest when half the trics are creamy white, rather than waiting for the whole plant to turn creamy white.

What strain are you growing?

I don't know where you seen this false information... but I can tell you for a fact... that its totally incorrect information.

You people have alot of learning to do.. ;)

peace.

Let's get beyond the trichs for a moment. What does your plant look like? Does it have a bunch of new white pistils shooting all over place? Or have they browned off, receded, and expanded the calyxes? Send a pic for us to judge. Sounds like your gonna have to wait another couple weeks, or harvest now and waste your efforts.

THC starts to degrade once they turn amber but thats also what gives you more of a couchlock stone as to a heady energized feeling. So its really all up to the grower and what kind of high he wants
