im new to PH testing, in fact just did my first ph test on some nutes this past weekend.
besides testing the nutrients. I am wondering how I should be checking my soil. I found this article that mentions a few techniques. I dont know how to carry out any of them. Are you familiar with them?are they hype?and most impotantyly how do you check your soil ph? Thanks youz Amber

i've used th one 2 two method before but u needn't worry with ut bio-bizz soil, everything is present and correct at the right ph for you.

the only thing u would need to do would be to make ur nutes up, check the ph and correct if necessary. if ur water is good then u may not even need to ph alter at all, if ur lucky that is

This is coming along nicely Las. I'm contemplating putting screens on a few of my vegging plants to give it a go. There's 5 DOG Kush and 5 Purple Haze that I repotted into 3gal bags today as well as two Hedband.
I planned on using the 5 Dog and 5 PH to replace the 8 that will be coming out of the scrog beginning in a couple weeks but had no real plans for the Headband. I do have a lot of room to play with so maybe it would be a good idea to stick a screen on each of the 10 for the next few weeks and then when I flower them they'd probably blow up.
You might have said but, what dimensions did you cut your screen to for those plants?

I think this may be a good method for keeping mothers too so that they stay short but still produce a lot of sites for clones.

Hey Las, cut maself some small screens today and was going to put them on the plants tonight but am coming up short on plant stakes to supprt things. I'll have to pick some up tomorrow and get a couple started. My moms are too tall already I think for it but there's two Headband that I plan on scrogging one and leaving the other as a test. I'm going to do one Dog and one Purple Haze too but will leave the rest how they are.

sweeeeeet dezmondo any chance u got a couple of clones u could try or are u going from seed? i'd be really happy to see the results of that, me and my flat mate "discuss" it all the time lmao. he says straight up i say scrog lmao (he aint even finished a grow yet lmao)

it was hard to work out coz i took a couple of arms off before the weigh in and lost a bit of weight during my cure technique i employ but i'd say 4.5 oz bone dry to 4 and 3/4 oz.

7 week veg, super lemon haze (good pheno) canna coco a+b boost and pk 13.14

edit - i'll be back at the weekend for a 4 week 12.12 update i think they stopped stretching now and starting to fluff up quite nicely time for super lumens switch *evil laugh* (or as my mate calls it the extra 1/8th button lmfao)

I'm getting a SLH going for my first grow. I'm 3 1/2 weeks into veg and started to train my plant. I heard topping isn't the best for it's stem so I'm just bending it over and tying it with string to let the lower branches reach the light... I saw this post today and want to get on this style. Once those branches reach up a few inches from training with the tie I'll let the string go and have the stem go upright through a terrace I'll buy. Is this a good plan? I'll get pictures up soon. 400 w MH right now. Feb 5 seedling . It's a few nodes up with I'd estimate to be a 3cm diameter stem.

Alright here's the girl. From Feb 5 under 400w MH. Bathroom grow, first time. I'm working on getting some more materials but my car just broke down... fuckin' a. Anyway, I want to get another top on it without "topping it" so I'm training it. I know I know... it's in a 3 gallon now... going to get into a new sunshine 4 mix 5 gallon and get this thing going. Just wanted some preliminary pics. With one day with the tie the little branches are getting leaves, I want to keep that going. I'll transplant soon (before it's too late) and get a pattern of ties. Right now I'm kind of harassing it to get more tops. Good plan? She seems to be healthy, some yellow spots ( but not big enough for a decent camera to catch) forming on the big leaves. It's about a foot under the light with one box fan blowing on it. Temps are around 80. I heard SLH is a stretcher sativa so I'm keeping it close to keep the branches from getting too 'stemmy'. Also with my broken carness I could only get some sugar beat molasses organic. 8-0-0, making it tea. I want to accellerate this thing. Considering transplant with guano??? Easy on the Phos. I know.

hey bro looks like u got a nice stocky SLH there bro good choice on veging light are u gonna change it out during flowering for a hps or run it the whole way? i run my 600 MH for the 1st 2 weeks of flowering but tempted to leave it in as i grew some mean chillis with my 250mh hehehe.

theres no doubt that you could still scrog it. if ur after my advice i would put it in a bigger pot in few weeks then start thinking about fixing a screen in place then. its ur choice obviously bro but with the scrogs they do like a big old pot coz it still is a big old plant

RIP to the LSD haha sounds like a jungle tune i know. Had to bin it off due to it being full of seeds, not just a few it was riddled with them burnt it with nutes as well lol oh well i've moved things back into a perpetual lol. at least she served a purpose so that people could learn

Headband, nice covering of colas now. 4.5 weeks 12.12 and she's looking pretty much like the test clone did at this point.

Well, she snapped.... when I tried to put a tie down the stem was too strong and broke. I can tell it's getting a lot of water and nutes though, pretty much leaked out of the stem. Anyway, I thought I could save the mama top and I put it in water until I could get a new batch of soiless organic for it. I stuck it in the dirt... probably a half inch, I hope it can root... if it does the new plant will be kick ass. And the original has 3 or 4 really good looking tops now, those ought to shoot up over night. Here's the before and after haha.

no but if u check ur bible it says potasium deffeciency, my book says magnesium so i wonder if its a complination of both? i dont just wanna bump my feed strength up just in case. exploring epsom salts and bat crap tea with high levels of calcium first if not gonna hit her with some PK13.14 and probs burn the shit out of her lol

s++t thats ban news bro but she looks more than healthy enough to carry on with. my advice would be to leave her be for a week or so and let her recover before you try anymore LST good luck with ur clone, try misting with water a few times a day for good results o place a empty bottom of a bottle over it to make a humidity dome

No dice.... the hopefull clone baby died upon waking up this morning... oh well. I kind of wanted to get these little top goin.... now I might not need to train at all for a while... To get back to another question, I'm using a 400 w and I'm finding it grows faster the further my light is away. Still in a couple of weeks when it needs to flower, I'm afraid of its height, and yield... but I hear the SLH will double up when I switch? I've got an MH ballast right now and I'm shopping around for a used MH HPS conversion bulb so I can use it in the same ballast. Misting helps a lot (with distilled water only of course)

if the light is to far away then it will want to strech up for the light. the MH is good for keeping the internodes short
