ok, I understand how these pots work. my question is could i receive the same results if i plant in a sandbag.(not using sand as the medium) seeing how the bags are made, they are a thick nylon srtips about 1/8th an inch wide woven together. the dark color would protect from light and the tiny spaces between the weaves would act the same as the air pots holes. wouldnt it?

I just started using the superoot air pots but I only got one grow under my belt using them. So far I really like em and I plan to continue using them. Here are some NL#5 I just harvested a cpl of weeks ago and 3 clones that have been veging for around 2 weeks. Although I took the clones like 5 weeks into flower and they took quite sometime to reveg. So my veg time is based on when they started to take off. You'll notice a third clone that is hanging on but it refuses to grow. I might have to just pull the plug on her. Right now I got em in 1 gallon AP and I'll be moving them into 2.5 gallon AP within a week or two.

Anyways, I'm on board for the airpot club.

Yeah but I didn't take any pics of it. They were pretty spread out throughout the whole pot though.

Superroots airpots are amazing, i have a Full moon and White Widow flowering at week 4, the smell is amazing!

Ive been using the Diy versions.
My big 2.5 gal airpot is a bucket with alot of big holes drilled in it an lined with screen.

The small 10 oz an mediurm 64 oz ones are made from styrafoam cups with holes poked in em. lol



30 days in the 10 oz cup an no root circling. They work!



The great grower " Hobbes " has a excelent thread on em , claimed 25% more yeild just by using them.....

I don't understand why people are still attempting DIY versions of these pots
(maybe they are not available in some areas I guess?)

1. the price difference between an airpot and a normal pot is pretty marginal - a few quid maybe... for me time is money and sitting around drilling a hundred holes into a bucket to save a quid doesn't make any sense whatsoever (maybe for some people it does?)
2. drilling holes will only give the same effect to the roots where the holes are - the rest of the roots are still hitting the sides of the pot - whereas the airpots guide ALL roots to air source prune

there was a discussion that they where invented in australia but i'm not sure how true the rumer is.

diy airpots would work roughly the same way i guess i'm not knocking them but the airpots do have the cone moldings to make sure that every root gets air pruned.

I've tried airpots in the past.
5 airpots next to regular pots. Same size clones from the same plant. I noticed no difference in hight, yield or potency.
I always use 1/4 perlite with my coco, which might explain why there was no difference between my airpots and the regular pots.
People that don't use perlite might see a difference.

I did that for my mother plant. Used a pair of stockings for the outside of the basket to stop all the coco from falling out.

I placed an order with BL last week - it was supposed to arrive Friday but it didn't, called him up on Sunday afternoon (they are open 9am-9pm 7 days a week), he explained there was a stock issue with the tent and that is why it was delayed, everything arrived on Monday well packaged and all in order. Would of been nice if he had let me know rather than me having to call, however he was very friendly and helpful on the phone - spoke to him a couple of times previously as well. I think his name is "Adam"....

A friend of mine ordered from from Progrow yesterday and his stuff arrived this morning.

BL is slightly cheaper for the pots but progrow seems to be a bit more on the ball.

Basically both places seem legit
