Fan Speed Controller

I have an Elicent 8" inline fan. I need a fan speed controller to dial down the speed a little bit. The fan directions say it can be variable-speed-controlled with solid state speed controllers. Can anyone suggest such a controller?

Or just pick one up at he hydro shop for 25$ or so.

dude you don't have to give wrong advice just to add to your post count. a light dimmer doesn't work for controlling fan speed.

I use the CAP varible speed controller. I really like it. It regulates the temps too.

I use a router speed controller from HArbor Freight Tools...$20 and is the EXACT same thing you get from sunlight supply or any hydro shop

they do work but work by pulsing energy in little bursts to to your fan which causes the loud humming from fan and slowly destroys it!

i heard the same thing about pulsing the electric, i needed one to run 2 fans at once a 4 ich vortex/177cfm and a 6inch vortex 452cfm i went to PAYNE ENGINEERING and they built me one its very nice however its very exspensive 165.00 plus tax and shipping but i needed it , hope it helps .......................peace Wishbuilder
