*PICS* Brown/yellow crispy dying leaves?

My plants leaves are going yellow and crisping to brown at the tips and dying?

Its now in about its 5th week of flowering

Is it some sort of nutrient burn?

Ive heard about flushing but dont know really how to flush?

Could any1 help me and tell me what the problem is and how i can resolve it?

Looks like nute burn to me, what are you feeding them, how much, how often and when did you transplant?

hey,,
from your pics,,its only really the fan leaves that look that way..and with out knowing more info,,( temp, feed schedule, soil(is it your own mix?) RH% etc.) i think thats heat stress. actually looking at your pics again it looks like a long gone def. looking at the small spots on the other leaves,,can i ask how far the bulb is from those leaves.???
In my view id remove those leaves as they are more than 50% damaged.
anyhow give us some more info if possible to get difinative answer...

i made the same mistake with my first grow over feeding. If you flush with 2 litres of water it should sort it out.

Im feeding them with Bio-Bizz nutes. Bio-Grow and Bio-Bloom with some buddy. 5ml of Bio-Grow per 2Litre and about 8ml of Bio-Bloom per 2Litre with 2ml of buddy. I feed them once every 2 days because the they dry out quick in their small pots (A 2Litre bottle is enough to feed all 4). Ive kept them in the same 4Litre pots because of limited space.

It looks like the new growth is browning at the tips.

I've never used these nutes but feeding them every 2 days seems excessive based on every nutrient regiment I've ever used. I usually alternate feedings with straight water. I would probably flush, don't want to fuck around at this stage of flower.

I use bio bizz's range,,great stuff and can be used every water as long as its built up to and not a jump into the deep end if it were. I recommend bio bizz but use the topmax with bio bloom and bio heaven 2 feeds then the 3rd day just water,,so as not to get lock out,,
just my exp with bio bizz. take it easy.

Im using GrowWise Multi-Purpose compost. The temp in there is about 25-29C with the light on and a fan blowing on them.

Plants are about 8 inches away from the light, i dont think the heat is the problem as alot of the lower leaves started dying and crisping like this?

I have to feed them every 2 days as the soil gets so dry in them small pots! Should i feed them with nutes one feed then next feed give them water and keep swapping what i feed them with?

Also i am yet to get a PH meter for water/nutes and will be getting one soon. I wasnt planning on getting a ph tester for the compost or can u use a water one to test the compost or u have to buy them seperately?

A few things.....

Yes I would alternate feeding and watering and look for signs of deficiencies and nute burn. IMO you're burning them with too many nutrients. I would give them a good flush and water with straight water for another watering before reintroducing nutrients. By flush I mean give them water in the amount of 3 x the volume of your pots.

You said your plants are 8" from the lights but what I don't see where you stated what kind of lights you're using?

When you get your PH tester you can use this to monitor the PH of your solutions. With this you can also monitor what the PH of your soil is doing and its quite easy. I like to adjust the solution to about 6.3-6.5 and introduce it to the medium (this would be your compost). Pour enough for some runoff and catch it in your runoff pan. PH test the water and see how the medium effected the PH of your solution. You can add some dolomite lime to the soil to effectively raise the compost PH. The lime should last about a month before it is expired from the medium.

Also would it be ok to use rainwater to flush/feed them with? Ive heard its pretty good for them and is it better than normal tap water?

Also as a general rule try to keep your temps under 29c. Lets get these girls straightened out quick and keep them churning out budz.

Thanks for that advice. Im using a 400w HPS. What should the PH of the soil be, and the ph of the nutrient mix?

Rainwater should work just fine yes sir! Some people may argue differently that it might bring contaminants into the grow space but I don't see how this will effect you at this stage of the game. Just don't let it sit and get stagnant.
