Got a quicc question

this is my first grow and i am wondering about how long to harvest.

I got a bubblegummer, blue mystic, and indica champion (which could be sensi star, ice cream, or whiteberry i dont know they didnt come labeled they came in a group pacc)
and on the paccages it says 8 weeks

what does that mean exactly, is it 8 total weeks, is it 8 weeks of flowering? A little help would be appriciated.

flowering time is 8weeks.

HOWEVER its generally only a guideline and tends to be the earliest possible harvest time.

In my limited experience i find 8week flowering times are not really enough time for the plant to be ripe.

i always schedule for 10weeks of flowering and if it ripens sooner then its a bonus .

eight weeks of flowering is what they mean. although those are suggested time frames based on averages. get a good scope or magnifying glass and look at the crystals(commonly referred to as trichs) when they are about 30% amber your ready to chop. some go earlier and thats fine also. your running indicas im thinking 60 days will probably be close.

THANKS HOMIES!!!

Yea this is my first grow, tired of paying outragious prices for weed and decided "i can grow and smoke better shit than i buy", so i watched a few videos on youtube (theclosetfarmer) and was like i can do this.

I didnt know what exactly that meant, but i thought that it would be something like that. I also heard let it go to at least 24" before taking the plants into 12/12, is that how yall feel?

anyways, thanks for the help

This is also my first time trying to grow, and I was going to do the 48 hours of darkness before switching the lights to 12/12. Instead, I did 39 hours, only because I had a certain time that I wanted to start the cycle, and that time was at the 39 hour mark. My understanding for the purpose of doing this is the plants will show sex sooner. A week later the balls popped out everywhere on the plant that I thought might be male. I got him out of there fast, and a few days later my girls started to show their hairs.:leaf::leaf::finger:

prolonged darkness is a waste of time and can be a pain in the ass keeping temps up above 18C/65F . i just keep my dawn time the same and adjust for 12/12. I have done 36hour darkness before and it really makes little to no difference, its more about how much veg time you give it prior to 12/12 .

It all depends on your setup. If you have the room and the lighting to have a 4ft tall plant then yeah veg to 24" .

You may want to search and read about TOPPING, FIMMING, LST and SUPERCROPPING. These are methods of plant training to keep plants squatter,

What lighting are you planning on using ?

My cabinet is i believe about 6ft tall, 4 feet wide and 2 feet deep

yea i saw a couple of videos about topping, im going to try, where you cut off the stalk where the nodes dont start together, cut where they are staggered

btw homie, that picture is fuccin sweet.
