question... do i let tap water sit out for 24 hours in a big resouvuir befor i put it in my 5 gal buckets since i change the water i my 5 gallon buckets manually?

Yes let it sit outside for at least 24 hours before changing reservoir or watering. I suggest later on down the road to switch to RO water, if you can. You'll have better control over your plants by simply changing water. But for some people this isnt an option.

its winter outside so cant let it sit for 24 hours outside, is inside ok? also how can i get RO water? sorry im a noob to dwc

You can let it sit inside but for at least 24 hours before using. And RO water is sold at major grocery stores or at purified water stores or machines around liquor stores
