QUICK UPDATE-I bought a 8" solid 90* angle for my intake, and I tried taping a thin 3M filter to it, but it restricted the airflow and some light is leaking through, so I'll have to buy another one to make a "U" and see if that blocks the light better, but the good news is it really moves air! As soon as I solve the light problem, my intake issue is solved cause I'm now changing the air in my tent twice a minute, if not more

I actually have no idea on the CFM on my fan, it's just a window fan from walmart, but I can feel the air coming out my exhaust like crazy, and I can tell it's moving a ton of air. But the 3M filter didn't really work out, it restricted the airflow...But now that we know about the greencure, I'm not too worried about pulling clean air into my flowering tent, that and the fact that my RH stays low in there. Also, I checked up on your vids, looking great bro!

As for the seeds, WOOT!! I've never ordered seeds before, but it was relatively painless...So I'm thinking I'm about to go crazy...I wanna buy a reloadable personalized prepaid credit card and start making monthly orders, if not one order per paycheck! I dunno, I want to start a seed collection, and I KNOW you can germ old ass seeds cause my whole outdoor grow last year was from old seeds, and Lefty is 5+ years old as a seed herself...

Righty, it turns out, is a lineage known to me. Ok, follow me here guys My dads friend ordered some breeder's white widow from a Canadian seedbank last year, and he gave my dad a seed, well my dad grew it out poorly, haha, and ended up giving most of it to me, cause he doesn't smoke and my mom doesn't trim...Well my dad's friend who originally bought the seeds grew it and bred it to itself...Well my mom ended up getting some of his bud, and when I was looking at it I saw this seed, snatched it up, threw it in with the old seeds, and now I have Righty! I've been trying to figure out her smell for a while now, cause it was so familiar, but it makes sense cause it smells like the BHO i made out of my dad's widow!

So Lefty is my old school 5+ year old bud, and Righty is someone's inbred White Widow, i'm pretty sure, but who REALLY knows, cause it's not THE white widow, I hear that's now called black widow...but that's a different story!

He has been keeping them in his garage for the last 5 years in an old film canister. Out of 20 seeds that he gave me 7 germ'd and out of the 7 I believe that I have 4 female. Not too bad for seeds that were kept in a freaking garage!

And you guys just keep on talking about ventilation. I am taking notes!

So I thought I'd take the time to post a couple pics of the DWC project. I'm not really sure what I'm gonna do with these ones, I'm on the verge of topping the one that is stretching, and the others are staying pretty squat...I'm taking suggestions...Also, I was thinking about maybe throwing them into flower in about 10 days, give or take...What do you guys think? I mean, obviously I would like them to get a little bigger, but we'll see what happens in the next week and a half. The tall one keeps growing into the T8, and I just decided to let it touch the bulbs, since it's not burning the leaves like when they touch the CFL's...Anyway, they look pretty happy, and the roots are just getting crazy, so what should I do with them next??

hey meta, i like the topping idea. and 10 days to start 12/12 also sounds good. you're gonna finish these ones indoors you're thinking, right? you know what you could do, is put a "dollar tree hat"-style scrog on them, maybe? maybe the actual one is too wide (9" diameter) but if you could find or make something like that, that would be pretty sweet.

Yeah, I was thinking about building a frame maybe, and setting up a scrog in flower, but I have no idea where to begin. I'm still on the fence about topping, but it's hard to LST on the DWC, cause I have nothing good to tie off to, and I need to be able to remove the lid and move the plants around and shit...So maybe topping is the way to go, we'll see how I feel Tuesday, thats my only day off this week, though I might just get home from work tonight and snip the bitch, haha.

Anyone know when you should begin SCROG and when is the latest into a plants growth that one can start a SCROG??

yeah i can see how it would be a little more complicated with dwc. do you need to be able to separate the plants from the lid? cause you could mabe attach a dish drying rack or something that fits over all the plants. from what i understand (mostly from smellytreez example) is that scrog during veg is the best, because you can use the holes to separate the tops and have them spread out at even level. however!! it's also good to set up a screen during flower because it helps hold the heavier buds up and it provides a lot of tying positions for easy lst.

so... not sure if that helps lol. if you end up topping, make sure you don't top the solar power plant, that shit don't grow back.

I figured SCROG in veg was best, and my plants are still little...But that one in the front right corner is growing FAST, It'll be interesting to see how things develop later on, I'm just hoping I don't get balls on all of them...I'd be happy if one of the strong plants turns female...As long as I'm not just stuck with runty, cause I'd straight up make that bitch a seed whore and leave the 3 males surrounding her....Damn I hope that doesn't happen!

Once again, I can't stress enough how easy it was to get everything together and set up my DWC...But the growing aspect of it involves a little more, because you need to provide more for the plants since their solely growing in water...But so far I've been lazy as shit about it, and my plants seem to be loving life.

A thought here meta but I know my girl didnt stretch at all. Light proximity was the key if I am not mistaken. I never had the lights more than 1.5 inches from the leaves/buds. That way she didnt have to work so hard to get light....the lumen drop off with cfl's is pretty extreme with cfl's. Especially the lower wattage ones.
