My Compost Grow

Hello fellow RIU members! I'm starting another grow using my compost mix but will be doing things a bit different this round.

I've increased the amount of Perlite I'll be using in the mix to about 50% and I've added Dolomite lime to help stabilize ph.

I will be growing Nirvana's White Castle and White Widow. I believe I'll be doing a 6 week veg. I plan to top the WCs after 5 weeks and LST the WWs for the length of the grow.

All the seedling broke the surface on the 4th of March with 100% germination rate so far with Nirvana's seeds.:leaf:

Lights~ 400w SS2 digital switchable air-cooled hood, four 24" T8s, 26w UVB 10.0
Fan~ 190cfm inline with carbon filter attachment
Pots~ 2.75gal auto watering
Tent~ 3x3x6.5ft Mylar grow tent

I've checked out your thread a few times and liked what I saw, I'll be sure to post in it when they get a little bigger.:blsmoke:

^^^ So far the best pest control I've found has been to just put 1/2" to 1" of perlite on the top and bottom of your soil. Pest strips work good for the flying bastards. =)

can you give a quick how to on killing bugs without destroying beneficial bacterias

Major difference! Looking good, gotta love rapid growth!
They're definitely liking the extra perlite. I've been mixing up the compost for their final pot for the last couple days and plan on stirring it up a couple times a day until transplant.

I really don't think I spent enough time preparing my medium for my last grow and I believe it greatly affected it, this round should be different.:leaf:

Thanks! I have to see how full my hands are with putting in a garden this year but I think if people want to purchase some of my compost they can private message me and maybe I can work something out.

Good shit dude. I'm sure that perlite helps for root development. Maybe even transplant them earlier?
I'm thinking I'll transplant either tomorrow or Friday. I'm just now starting to see some roots coming down the side of the cup.

I'm eager to see how fast they take off after the transplant, they're growing 3x faster then they were before already.

Here they are after the transplant. Switched the lights and got everything setup last night so I went ahead and transplanted right after. It went well and they look nice and perky today.:leaf:

looking really good man. do you have a top layer of something on top of your soil or is that the soil.
also are you using straight compost? i would not think so but i didnt see you mention you mix it with soil, and if you do what type of soil do you mix in
