At some point, everybody over there forgot how to pronounce the letter R, so thy just said fuck it.When linguists study writing of semi-literate people at the time of English colonization of America, they can get a pretty good idea of how things were pronounced at the time. (Semi-literate people often aren't sure how to spell a word, so they spell it phonetically). Of course, at the time english was pronounced the same on both sides of the Atlantic (with variations depending on what part of England the people were from).
So, it turns out Amercian pronunciation is closer to the way things were pronounced back then than British pronunciation is. The phrases, words, and pronunciations that the British think of as quirky americanisms often are really things that stayed stable here in America, while the British changed or lost them over the centuries.
Maybe not so interesting to many of you, but I've always been fascinated with etymology and how languages evolve.
I always wondered how they did that, now I know. It's probably a type of muscle called a sphincter, which is tensed (probably not the right terminology) in it's normal state. Humans have several in our bodies...base of the esophagus to keep acid out, and the crapper are two I know of.did you know that a bats feet/claws work in reverse compared to our hands,,,if you allow me to explain. as you make a fist with your hand you tightn your muscles and make a fist. when you release your fist you hand opens and is open when you arnt tighting you hand, well a bats foot work the other way,,so when they relax there muscles there foot/talon/claw closes and they have to tighten there muscles to release there grip. this is how bats can hang upside down and sleep. I was very baked when I heard this and was amazed. ... loads of you may already know this,,but I dont know much about bats so thought this was cool.....
so there you go,,another did you know.
yes, yes i do....friggen Chipoltedid you know that when you eat hot stuff and take a shit it burns your ass hole...
