quick question...why do you stack the perilite on top of your substrate? What is its function? Does it not float out when you water?? Just wondering and would like to know

I had a big problem with fungus gnats . Usally a layer of sand stops them from laying eggs in your soil , but makes watering alot slower , so I have been testing out using a layer of Perlite .Seems to work also . I had the gnats bad though. I even started layering the bottom of my pots aswell since them bastard was going through the drain holes and laying eggs. Got em fought off now though. I guess with a soiless medium such as sunshine mix you dont get gnats . I have used all the top brands of soil and had gnats with them all. The sand does stop them bitches dead in there tracks though , highly recommended for any one having this problem .

It does float but my can doesnt water fast enough to keep up with drainage so no floating .I,ll quit using it in flower when I start running Sunshine Mix.:leaf:

Time Lapse Nutrient Burn

Discovered I have a good photo sequence time lapsed out of a nutrient burn in progress . Went back through my Journal and discovered why also . These plants had a somewhat hot mix in the soil . I top dressed around week 2 ,and I had given them 1 tbsp to a gallon of Organic liquid nutes , should be no more than 2 tsp per gallon. Anyways my pain is your gain I guess check the destruction in progress .

Tilders (NL Special) Smoke Report . RM3 Grown . This is copy and paste from Lumi's thread as I typed it last night .

Yup had a busy evening out after visiting RM3 , just did have time to taste some Tilders before heading back out . Just finished a decent sized bowl of her just now in our bubbler . I read where Shrubs posted on it back in Dec. , he reported skunky and chocolaty but we do know that taste changes as it continues to cure .Not sure if this was from the same harvest though? For me it smells like spices kinda like the smell of Cloves ciggarettes . Taste amazingly is the same with what I would call an earthy undertone similar on inhale and exhale. This bowl I just smoked in the water pipe hit preety hard and fast no joke , took 3 big rips it even blurred my vision for a second kinda like Pineapple Express does ? Was cool for damn sure and am stoned pretty good right now as I type ,can't you tell by all the details
, LOL damn fine meds right there boys and an honest to god description on my part . Good Night fellers wait and ladies there are some partaking in the fun.

(Edit) Forgot to mention it burned to a nice white ash and I purposely barn burned the last bit to see how harsh or not harsh it would be. Son it wasn't hardly harsh at all very nice ,you now how nasty the last bit can be with improperly cured stuff. Not here actually smokable till she burns out .

IsoHash

Here's some pics of my first Isohash runs . Yielded 1.1 grams with about 1/4 of trim . First batch I filtered once .Second batch I filtered twice and did get more . My camera doesn't take macro shots well at all so final product pics aren't focused well .
