Is it the same as the SSV just less bells and whistles.??
ya pretty much, one of the key differences is the glass used, in da buddah its spherical ground and sets horizontially, this in my opinion gives a fluffier hit, still a good toke, but I prefer standard ssv as it condenses the air into a nice dense stream, this is all due to glass style....
this is a difference of glass types dbv uses the spherical style (note these heaters are for SSV not DBV)

oh and besides that, you know more of a desgign of material...initially DBV was of a cheaper build and thus a cheaper buy, but now its a very nice vape, oh and glass isn't custom (like knobs is well a knob, my ssv is handblown glass knob)
oh and IDK about the new boxs, but the problem was back in the day, they were made cheaply, and a "hot box" would eventually buckle from the heat.....from my knowledge SSV and DBV do NOT have that problem
