[autorun]
ShellExecute=nameoffile.wmv
icon=nameoffile.wmv

is this it???

so that you insert it and it starts playing the movie????

or is autorun only for .exe files???

You could use a batch file to run it which is fairly simple just Google it or you can check out planet source code they have a lot of pre written scripts.

Im sorry i dont know batch #'s -- is it a 750 or a 520? one has 8mb front cache, the other 3mb -- very big diff. but from what i know, you can probably go from 2.66 to a solid 3.66 with little heat issue... im also not familiar with your heatsink... I can ask my buddy at intel what his thoughts are if you want..

batch file requires user interaction... he wants to simply put the CD into the drive and have it start playing..

Haha! Not nearly enough information about the computer to say what to do. But my first suggestion would be to put down the straw, and step away from the yayo.

What exactly are you trying to do though? Are you trying to actually code?? If so, what language are you using..

secondly.. if your just trying to make a batch file.. that's not hard at all.

good luck.. let me know if you need any help.

peace.

the coke is gone and the computer is stll turning off.
I cleaned it out with air and there was no dust in it.Tried reinstalling windows 7 and that didn't work.I even took it outside when it was snowing and it still shut off.
I dont think its over heating.

I have to assume its a laptop. Try doing this... try taking the battery pack off, and plugging in the power cord, then turning it on, have it run directly from power cord. See if it runs longer then... If that is the case, you have a dead power pack. No biggie, can usually replace those fuckers for about $100

I did that to and it still eventually turns off.
One thing I did notice when the batteries plugged in and its supposed to be charging it stops and will be stuck at like 90% power and a message will say plugged in not charging.
I found a battery for like 60,im about to order it.

Long story short. PC went tits up three weeks ago. So I thought I would take the opportunity to build a new one and fix the old one as a back-up. Plus I need the practice.

Compatibility problems with the kit and trial and error diagnosis on the PC led to additional parts. So $700 later.

New system board, processor, HDD and graphics card in the old case.

Windows 7 hangs at random times. Usually after I update or load a Microsoft product. The only solution when this occurs is to return to a known restore point. Hopefully, the system has stabilized by now because there have been no hangs today. <knocks on wood>

The old PC, what I thought was a bad system board was misdiagnosed because the new board did not help. So I am waiting on a new processor to arrive sometime today. It has to be that because I have ruled out everything else.

Honestly, that could be any number of things. But my first recommendation would be to do a clean install, wipe the drive (if not already) format to NTFS -- Your windows 7... is it pirated? If not, I assume you have the OEM disc -- in which case, there should be no hang ups..

The old one just stopped. Like turning off the surge protector. Dead. On restart would run about three seconds then stop. Would not even make it to POST. With the new system board it would not even power up. I ruled out the power supply, HDD, and memory as potential problems. Prior to the failure, I did notice that the processor was working awful hard (100%) a lot of the time.

Currently, the 'new' system I am on now just hung on me again dammit. It works fine in safe mode, but hangs at random times in normal mode. The only thing I can figure is the second hard drive from the old system is installed. That HDD was where I backed up the old system. If this keeps reoccuring I may disable that HDD temporarily just to be sure it's not causing a conflict.
