growing in a trash can outdoors

Since my plant is on the roof, concealed on the sides with 2 boxes. I was thinking of sticking my pot in a garbage can. Just worried that not much sun would get in there, maybe i tilt it a little. Would be nice to do a scrog here since i get 12 hours of daylight. grow it indoors for 2 weeks and then stick it out in the garbage can.

anyway i was wondering what could i use inside to reflect? I don't think i would be able to find mylar here. I am in puerto rico. If i did find it, would that cook my plant in this type of climate. It gets to around 85 here with a nice breeze and low humidity.

No. I wouldn't put your pot in a garbage can. I would take advantage of all that beatiful sun you get. If your woried about it being visable, maybe make a frame out of pvc and wrap some clear plastic( the kind some of these guys use for their carport grows) around , giving your plant plenty of space. Maybe cut some slits in it for better ventilation. Just an idea.

what if i cut a portion of the top part, so that spot can be open to the sun coming in it, maybe i put my container on something to elevate it. I have a police officer living across the street and my plant grew bigger then what it said it would grow for an autoflower.

I can place it in my garden outback, but there are just too many spidermites that keep coming back. She is flowering, don't want to take chance with the spidermites

Inside the trash can it wont get alot of direct sunlight.

You could raise the plant up with somthing to get it closer to the top for more light.
As it grows you lower it down.
Most autos only get 1-2 feet tall so she shouldnt out grow the trash can.

Around my house I used a new 1 gal paint can ( painted camo)hung from a big hook in a tree.
I grew a little ak48 clone in it last year, worked great.

yea well this autoflower is now about 3 feet, think she just keeps getting taller everytime i go up there to look at her. I was thinking i cut small rectangular shaped windows on the garbage can let more light in, maybe 3 windows on each side, cover it up with plastic

Grow it with garlic or chives to keep the mites off.

Use a rubbermaid can, if you're afraid the metal would fry it, You should be able to manage the heat/sun.

thanks, i have chives growing in a container right now. About to plant chives all over the garden. I got the population down , everyday i spray the undersides of the plants with a hose. Since i am doing everything organic, i don't want to use pesticides. Making my own garlic, onion and soap spray. I will use the rubbermaid, only color they have is black. Maybe i ut some white trashbags as lining inside or something

I use organic flea collars from Planet Natural. Just essential oils.

Try some Cedarcide. Get the little travel cannisters.

Also, Zero Tolerance.

Can't you just tie it down? Train it slow and you can turn it almost 90% and then keep tieing down the shoots that go up as well as keep training the cola to go sideways.

any type of cloth?
no, it's a very lightweight spun polyester. I don't have a spec. sheet handy but I know at least 90 % light can pass through it. It also acts as a greenhouse trapping some heat inside too. This stuff is very useful for growing leafy greens like spinach organically as it keeps insects off the crops without pesticides.
A heavier weight fabric similar to it can be found as a dust liner on mattress box frames and under sofas & chairs.

oh ok i know what you aretalking about, chances are high that i would not find it in this island. I get enough heatr here as it is, would that not make it even more hot. I am so proud of my first grow, it would be a shame to bring it down just so it can get infested with those bastards. Maybe i can put it under 3 cfl's in my room. But i don't think i would get a bigger yield then i would outside, am i correct. I can also try putting it in the abandoned house with no roof next door, no one ever enters. but its filled with vines and chances are there is a spider mite infestation in there ugh..

I bought the garbage can i think i will stick it in there and put holes all over it and make a window where the sun shines. Mylar would be nice cause it would reflect it.
