What are some of the ways that law/drug enforcement agencies can detect that you may be growing marijuana in your home and what are some ways to get around their detection process?

usually it's a 'friend' that tips them off, you'd be surprised just how willing your buddy is when he's facing conspiracy charges. but honestly, smell, you can't hide that sweet odor of pot. well you can, and here's the fun. using charcoal filters and ionizers you can. excessive electric spikes during nightime hours (when you click those lights, generators, c02 producers on) In most states it's illegal to test for heat emanating from your house/ garage/ bomb shelter. super bright lights in attics, basements, fan and filter sounds late at night empty potting soil bags around or in your garbage in the dead of winter. Same goes for credit card purchases. DON"T!! simple as that. cash only for all weed expenses.

Keep your trash clean at all times, this includes no throwing away any other illegal contraband whether grow/drug related or not. Any illegal item will be just as bad as throwing in a huge "come kick in my door ticket". Don't think your safe by taking the trash out as the truck is approaching either, the cops wont be that stupid, they'll use a different garbage truck or unload the current one after its done with your street.

laws are to strict in america,some man got caught steelin electricity and growin 50 plants only got 200 hours community service and a year suspended sentence

Huh? S/he did not imply they were underage. If you receive the bill, what does it matter? If a family of three or more was renting/living in the house and you generate the same or less electrical bill than them, it won't matter.

Just play it smart. No light leaks, no odor, and no spreading the word you're growing. Do that and nothing will happen. Hell, I rent and have had zero problems in the past year. My electric bill stays around $80.

Age never entered my into my speculation.

He stated he was the only person in the house who would know about the grow. My point was that the person who pays the bill will know about it as well as the grower, unless the grower and the bill-payer are the same person.

And it would matter. These lights eat up energy. Energy is expensive. The bill-payer will want to know about a sudden surge in household electric use.
