I didn't read thru this since I'm kinda rushed for a few hours.Sry. I drown for a couple days, then give them 2 hrs. light & harvest. Trim all fan leaves. Then they go in the dry boxes for about a week at 30/30 24/7 then trim all sugar leaves. I've drown for up to 7 or 8 days one time all lights normal. No extended dark. Their colors change as they eat the N. It truely speeds the curing. I'm trying to get the timing down of how close they are to ready. Hope that helps.

Once I see her start to give as the leaves droop I chop. Thats how I did my last 2 plants, my Chocolope took a week. Am I doing it wrong too??? It seemed to work, my smoke was insanely smooth. I cough to get high, so yeah I cough a ton when I smoke. Hardly cough when smoking my Chocolope. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Prince Lumi Alberts!!!

EDIT: Didnt see your post Daniels, thats what I was saying about my CHocolope it took a week and I still ran her under the light 12/12, she turned wicked colors and she was a swollen bitch too.

Page 6 Post#55 in my 2nd journal will show my Chocolope and Bubba Kush plants drowning in my flowering tent, if your interested Chief, I thik I posted the pics on here before.

Peace

Thanks Illumination, appreciate you pointing me in the right direction to get the information I need.
Actually I would chop before it looks dead...I will get someone who has drowned more than I to come tell you what he does...

Wanna give you the best info I can....

Hey Daniel I appreciate and thank you for stopping by to give me some more insight on drowning my plant and when/how to harvest. Now I understand the process better, thanks BKB & Illumination. When I see droopy leaves that changed colors which indicates that Joni has been eating the N in the leaves, it's chop time:) A extra dark period is not necessary, just hang as usual to dry, then put in jars to cure which the drowning will improve the smoke once cured.

Hey BKB, I appreciate your help, advice, and information on drowning Joni. I love this Blue Mystic strain and want it to be a smooth smoke so I'm excited about trying a technique that will help me achieve this goal:) So it might take Joni a week before she dies, I know that when the leaves start to droop, and before she gives, it's chop time:) The leaves turning colors indicates that Joni is cobbling up the N in them, which is good because it will fatten her up. If your Chocolope & B Kush were both very smooth smokes after drowning them for 7 days then I'm all for waiting that long:)

hey wen i drown i wait untill the plant is pretty much where i want it to be to chop...then i drown...i give about 3-4days in the light and i monitor the water level...i draw a line to where it should be and i top it off...sometimes 2-3times daily as they drink a shit ton. untill it doesnt drink anymore...u will kno the process has begun wen ur plant stops drinking...then i give a few days of darkness...my plants dont usually droop wen i drown, they stay pretty much the same....the key things to watch for are when the plant stops drinking and usually i give a few days after that, one thing that does happen is yellowing as the tree is sucking the nutrients from itself causing it to ferment

Thanks Rastadred I need all the information I can get on drowning Joni. I did start the drowning process when Joni was ready to harvest, so now I need to see how much water Joni is drinking daily. I don't have her in a big pot so she would be a giant if she could drink all the water I have her drowning in:) If Joni doesn't droop then I need to check for when she stops drinking the water by marking where the line began and refilling it to that line until I notice she isn't drinking any more. The coloring of the leaves is an indication that Joni is feasting off herself:) which causes her to ferment.

It might take a day or two before you see any water level changing. I was wondering if anyone ever thought about putting molasses in the water being used to drown your plant? Anyone? I might give that a try when I drown my R.Ed Kush plant soon. I have done flushes sometimes with molasses in it.

Sugars should speed the process it's a wetting agent. I never add sugar to the mix anymore noticed no change in production. But soil guy's have a different reason to feed the microbes. But you'd think you'd add it the whole grow. I don't know anymore so many things to try. Way to go Chief family looks amazing.

I say go for it and add alot so you can see what it does if it does anything...great idea...sure cant hurt nothing as you are drowning anyways...you may just discover something....and as suggested put like 2 tblspns a gallon to really see

What's up Arch, I'm having fun learning and trying out new techniques.
This is insanely fun to read! I AM GLUED to this man. Go CHIEF
Hey BKB Joni is drinking a lot of water, I have to top off the bucket with water daily:) I thought about adding some Sugar Daddy to the water but I have used it with the nutrients throughout the entire grow.

Thanks Icannabis I'm learning something new about growing daily. Have your light come arrived yet?

Hey Millyy, I'm excited about the possibilities of what I could harvest off this grow for my weed pantry:) My last grow I didn't know shit about nutrients and my grow suffered. I had read many times about the benefits of keeping your plant green and I wanted to make that my motto this grow. I want to reap the rewards of keeping this grow green and healthy:)

Tomorrow I start drowning my R.Ed Kush with Blackstrap Molasses, I will take pics before/after. I hope it take like 10 days, I dont care as long as there are no nanners. Should be interesting, I will keep you posted on it. I am happy Joni is sucking water, means she is really processing shit through her system, will be nice and smooth for you! How many days total is it right now?

Peace

Wow CHIEF! All I can say is wow. They all look so nice. Is it just the picture or is JONI foxtailing a bit? I have never seen it other than in pictures, so I am guessing. Someone mentioned it on my last grow thread and I thought foxtailed buds looked cool as hell.
