Alright, I'm back ! lol
Had to go get that hole saw drill set from the store.

Within the next week or 2, I expect to be taking some clones so I need to start making my new bubble cloner from the 2gal Igloo.
I will be using my DR40 tent (16" x 16" x 48") to house my clones.

Not going to keep mother plants either.
Gonna do like Subcool, and just clone instead for a perpetual grow.
Hellz yeah dude. Keep us updated on how you went about making a cloner. That is my next challenge!

Gonna use this 2.1gal Igloo I found for less than $10.
Bought a Hole Saw drill bit set and will use the 1-3/4" hole saw to make my holes for the 2 inch neoprene inserts.
Once they root, I will carefully put them into the net pots/hydroton in the bloom coolers.

My perpetual will consist of me taking clones between bloom weeks 1 and 2, but no later than 2, from the plant(s) that will already be in bloom.

Hopefully I get a nice purple DPD female or 2, plus whatever fire comes from the SR71 PK and Chernobyl.
This 1st run will be an eliminating round so-to-speak.
I'll keep clones of whatever females come up from these 8 seedlings I have going.
After MAYBE a 2nd run, I will keep/get rid of the worthy/unworthy female(s).

When I get my purp DPD, like my avatar, I will pop some C88 beans this Fall for a nice hybrid between the 2.

Hopefully I can go both ways like this :
DPD(f) x C88(m)
C88(f) x DPD(m)

But that would mean one of the 2 current DPD's would have to be a male. Not sure if I want that right now (a male) !! lol

I will post pics as I make it.
Instead of a small thread, maybe I will just post it up in here since this is our club thread to share info and what-not.

Good looking out Flo I want to start cloning its quicker than starting from seed! I wish you lived near by I have one beautiful lush huge Super Lemon Haze just a awesome pheno I guess. Shes about 5 foot in veg right now perfect mother for clones

sharing info & what-not....lol, my mommy always said sharing was good.. hehe, i'm loving all these ideas, just don't have the room to clone & breed, well not yet.

If you, Weedler and I lived by each other it'd be a wrap !! lol
Hardly cracking seeds, and living off of clones from each other !!
Let alone a few others on here.............
IF ONLY !!!! lmao

Here's the cloner lid with the holes traced out for the saw.
I will drill 2 holes for the tubing in the top.
The lid sits flush with the top when it's in place.
The arear outside the "box" I drew is where the lid locks into the cooler so I can't/don't want to compromise that.

This is info..........lol

This is what-not.........lmao

So my friend FaithfulMastiff, tapped the perfectionist in me and won't let me drill holes all willy-nilly.
He's right in telling me to not be lazy, and do it right so there's nothing to be bothered by or about later on.
So that got me to thinking of drilling just 8 holes for more spacing and root developement without fear of the roots getting tangled up with each other.

SO, that also means I won't take clones until I know the sex of the plants.
I would prefer to have at least 2 clones from each female.
Something tells me I may have more than 4 girls right now too !!
A 12 site cloner would allow 6 girls to be cloned.
DAMN !!
What to do !?

You made me think on this some more FM ! lol

you know you want a 12 site & you know your going to end up getting a larger cooler, so run down to walfarts & just get the one you want, you know your going to end up doing that anyway.... (types with a fat cheesy grin n laughing) .....lol

but you are just making a cloner, so i guess the real question is how long do you plan on keeping them in there, I have the 3.5 net pots(for veg 3-6 weeks) and never had any roots get tied up

About the same amount of time once the perpetual starts.
Take clones at 2 weeks bloom, so bloom has about 7 weeks left.
Veg clones for 3 weeks, including rooting, so bloom has about 4 weeks left.
Put clones into bloom and start all over again at the 2nd week of bloom.

That way I don't burn myself out trying to be greedy and shit. View attachment 1524325
I'd be more than happy with 6 - 10 ounce harvest every month !! lol :weed:

6 - 10 ounces a month, right that's it, i'm buying the house next door....lol
Yeah, I figure I should be able to do that. lol

I haven't gotten less than 6oz's since I started using the coolers.
Hopefully I can keep that up with a clone or 2 pulled from bloom every 4 weeks.
Shit even every 6 weeks, at most, would be nice.

unfortunately i only have the one small 2' x 3' x 6' grow space, so its from seed every time for me, need to get better lighting too
I hear you FM.
A 400w is perfect, whereas a 600w will be pushing it but can work too.
The sweet thing is for clones you don't really need a tent.
Just a bucket or tote in the corner with a 42w CFL or 2 hanging over it.

Well, I may have lost my mind on this one. I like the cooler for it's size and shape, it fit's in with my plans for a perpetual grow but there were two things bugging me. First, I don't like fact that the reservoir level keeps changing and I don't like the amount of air it takes to oxygenate the entire cooler. Before this, I grew in an RDWC using a 5 gallon bucket and remote reservoir and liked it but like I said the cooler size works better, so I came up with the Franken-Cooler. It's a 5 gallon bucket, set into the lid of a cooler that pumps nutrient into the bucket, from the side and bottom where it flows out a series of holes, near the top and back around again. This way the nutrient solution in the bucket stays constant, whether there is 5 gallons (minimum to recirculate) up to 10 gallons, the max the res holds. This way I just oxygenate a smaller cylinder instead of a large rectangular cooler. My plan is to do a 30 day cycle, from aerocloner with 3" net pots, right into this with no other media involved. After watching it work for a while I think it may actually be able to function as an aerocloner itself, meaning from cutting to harvest in the same cooler. Anyway, here's pictures of Frank. 100_2457a.jpg100_2456a.jpg100_2460a.jpg100_2459a.jpg100_2463a.jpg100_2461a.jpg

Thanks FG, I'm pretty happy with it but time will tell. I was thinking it's time for a little White Russian. :blsmoke:I've got a nice mom from Serious Seeds non-feminized that I've had for a while. It's a nice pheno, tight buds, not too tall and it practically clones in your armpit. it's so easy. I took four cuttings on 3/27 and expect them to have big happy feet by 4/6. I usually just flower two so this time, if they all root well, I'm planning on doing trying an approach graft to combine the two extras into one rooting, to limit exposure in my non-medical state.
