Neato, I wonder how much it will cost though? Hopefully not double that of the H150. I like kessil but they are just too expensive per true running watt for me.

I've seen too many horrible posts about Kessil to ever spend my money with them
im gonna have to agree with clove on this one.......kessil is the only fairly new led with an actual brand name that gets bad reviews.....i would only purchase a kessil over the .5watt and .25watt leds on the market

every mention of any brand name is an advertisement give me a break this whole thread aint shit but one giant led ad
???? So should we all just pretend to not like LED grow lights? I don't get why you even get on this thread if you are just an LED hater. Do you realize that there are allot more LED growers out there that use these lights but don't get on this thread to boast the benefits of LED? They just ignore all the misconceptions pick up their lights and grow. Users on here are trying to clear up these misconceptions. What is your point? Plenty of grow journals daily showing beautiful buds and other testimonials of people like me that don't have a decent camera but are completely happy with our LED grows. I like brands and don't like brands but I only speak of the units that I am familiar with.. If you don't like LED, GO AWAY!!

Lowdown those are some nice looking buds:weed:

One thing im noticing (maybe its anecdotal) is that the fan leaves look to get huge on LED grows. Bud is looking nice but those leaves look really big or is that just me??

That's why it annoys me that we have a user on here that doesn't want us to talk about brands. How else should we talk about LED units that we have issues with or those that we have satisfactory results from?? btw in all fairness the KEssils are doing the trick just not as tight as the ISIS. And I've liked how easily they are to move. I move them from my flower chamber to my veg chamber when lights are off in the flower. Since they are so small, I've been able to add stainless steel wire shelves to maximize the space in my veg chamber so there is some benefits but unless they come down dramatically in price they are not worth the initial investment.

I was accused of being a pitchman for Kessil because of how excited I got about their lights, and I got my medicine on that one. Now I'm sure I look like I'm selling ISIS but what it comes down to is every LED user is putting down some serious $. The larger they are going on their purchases the more they need this resource. I don't want anyone to experience the headaches I've had with Kessils but I also want others to know how great LEDs work. I have friends that insisted HID was the only way to go and now they are jealous of my setup and looking at how they can get some LED based solely on my results. It's to the point that I get angry because I was almost mislead myself and talked out of saving massive $ for years to come. These misconceptions are perpetuated intentionally by the HID industry who controls most if not all the hydro shops. The hydro shops are the hubs of this culture. That's why they never boast the benefits of LED unless they have Stealth Grow or KEssil and then it's, "this is the only LED unit that works." I have seen the power of LED with my own eyes so it gets at me to no end when people tell me LED doesn't work because then they are telling me, I'm seeing shit, that I'm delusional, or that I'm lying.

I have 3 blackstar 240w and my grow area is 4.5x5x7(length x width x height).

can you tell me what growing style would help me obtain the most bud. I am not sure if I should do sog, scrog, lst, etc.

if I should go scrog, sog or whatever method you recommend, can you tell me how many plants I should also grow as well.

also, I could've sworn a while back I read something about lighting that recommended for the first week of growing, I should grow under cfl or lower lighting so I don't stress the plants. after the first week I can turn my leds on. can someone please confirm this. thanks

I go sog because I don't know how I would do a perpetual harvest if I did scrog. On your lighting question are you going from clones or seedlings?? Either way three blackstars would be a waste. If they are only starts go with one those blackstars and keep them raised for 48 hours and then drop them down to prevent stretching. Add the other two blackstars one at time as they mature. That's another one of the added benefits of LED. You can apply more light as needed.

I'm pretty sure those 240w units really run on only 133w of power so in total you only have about 400w of power (some of that is fans, perhaps 50-100w). I would really only go 2 plants per light tops no matter what technique, I would definitely go with SCROG or SOG for sure, each has its pros and cons and most people feel differently about which to do. If I had those 3 lights I would probably do 3 plants in SCROG each under its own light (and sharing light of other units) and with its own separate screen so I could move them out of the tent fairly easily.

PS: You basically have 400w of HID in your tent think of it that way.

If you like Kessils because they're small you might like Sunshine Systems Grow Spots. At $72 for 15W (claimed) they're way up there $/W but if they were half the price I'd have 10 of them and sprinkle them like stars over my garden. As it is I bought 2 to supplement the CFLs in my 2x2x4 veg tent and they seem to cover a 10" pot with an LST clone nicely at least until the plants bush out past their containers. I also have a Sunshine systems 90W UFO in my flower shower (first grow) along with 4 CFLs because the UFO isn't enough for that space (30" diameter, 11 plant SOG).

Disclaimer: I paid full retail on the UFO ($275) from my local grow shop and full price on the Grow Spots from Greners.com. I get no compensation or deals of any kind from Sunshine Systems and don't recommend their products over any other manufacturer, it just happens to be what I have.

Which LED Mfg would have the best LED light if you were only wanting to use LED's to vegg, as only interested in creating a large number of cuttings for clone purposes.

Presently using 3 x 1000w HPS and wanting to cut down electricity usage.

Not than I am independently wealthy I am not, but more interested in making my purchase decision based on quality and performance not on $$$

Thanks for your help.

Even crappy LED lights usually veg well enough so it shouldn't matter too much who you go with. The ones I hear of the most are Blackstar, Kessil, Isis, and Spectra (from growledhydro, this is the one I chose)

What size area are you looking to cover with these LED's?
A Spectra 290W LED light will veg a 4x4 area for $670, they are arguably the top LED grow light manufacturer right now.
Be careful of cheap "ebay" LED lights, they are usually heavy on the red spectrum and will veg your plants out rather lanky.
Some companies make specific "veg" models of their LED lights, yet others offer all blue LED lights for veg.
Go with a reputable company and ask us any questions you want, we'd hate to see a fellow grow throw their money away.
Good luck.
